I've watched about 5-6 games of this kid, and he is a John Stockton clone, that's a good thing. I haven't payed enough attention of his defense to say how good a defender he is. But he is an awesome PG. Somewhere in the mold of John Stockton or Steve Nash. Ridnour never misses any 3 I seem him take, and he's great at passing the ball through traffic. Just a great pure PG, who can score when called upon. He is a Soph right now, and probably won't come out until next year at the earliest.
I agree..the kid is a solid player...but then again same things were said for Bryce Drew coming out of Valpariso.
Ridnour (soph) is good but Jason Gardner (junior) is the best PG in the country right now outside of the other Jason (Frank Williams, what an overrated dude). Gardner is a better defender and more physical player than Ridnour. The problem with Gardner however is he is only 5' 10", I don't think he will ever start an NBA because of it. Great leader and college player though. If Ridnour is really 6'2" and gets stronger, yeah he might be the better pro prospect.
Gardner is not a pure PG at all. He has a SG's game and mentality. Also, I don't think he's much of a defensive player. Ridnour has a much sweeter shot, and is more of a consistent player. Drew benefitted by playing against bad competetion (spare me his good 2 game stretch in the NCAA tourney in 98). Rudy T chose Mirsad Turckan that year also. If Rudy didn't pick Drew, Drew probably would only be a 2nd rounder. I agree about Frank Williams. I was never a fan of his, and now he is finally showing what a fraud he is. Big 10 POY my ass. Gardner has played well this season, but he will be lucky to be drafted in the 2nd round if he came out this year. Ridnour seems to have rare PG instincts.
Blake is very erratic. I hope you were joking. Blake goes on spells where he turns the ball over 10 times per minute. He's horrible at breaking a press.
