So these past few days I've aggressively been entertaining the idea of getting an iPhone. It would however require a lot of hassle so I was wondering if now is the right times in terms of if there will be another generation of the iPhone being released soon. Now I know most people on the board now about this just as much as I do, but i was wondering if Apple has any marketing trends in terms of release dates etc etc. Any info/advice would rock.
I would wait, supposedly 3G iPhones will be released late June. I have a iPhone right now and speeds on Edge are OK, but if you've waited this long, another couple of months won't kill you.
I love my iPhone, but I would totally wait until the 3G version comes out in the summer (worst... secret... EVAH).
Does anyone know if Apple allows upgrades? I thought I heard about users being able to upgrade to the 16GB - I wonder if they'll allow same thing with Edge.
When I first got my iPhone, I regretted it soon after. I thought it was a waste of money for a toy. Little bugs also annoyed me. Now probably four months later I could not be happier with my purchase. Apple really does a good job at updating the software.
I read it might be slightly thinner and will have a better camera which will allow for video recording.
Just wait and see what this year brings. I also read 3G iPhones are on the way. I've got T-Mobile, and T-Mobile is saying that they're rolling out their 3G network in the US in the late 3Q or early 4Q. Of course, they've been pushing their 3G debut back for a couple years now, but this one seems genuine because of the much anticipated HTC Dream (Android) a.k.a. gPhone a.k.a. Google Phone. I'm using a P990 right now, and I'm been wanting to upgrade for a while. I'll have great choices to choose from in the 3G iPhone and the HTC Dream. A very distant 3rd choice would be the sony ericsson Xperia X1. you gotta love those sim cards and unlocked phones...
I just hoped the 3G iphone would work well with the tmobile spectrum, at least in the major cities. I have been thinking about getting the iphone and am just waiting for the 3G version.
yeah same here. I'm looking for a phone with good web capablities. the iPhone is great, but the speed hinders the experience a little. I was going to settle and jump the gun, but right before then rumors were ramant on a 3G iPhone. Imagine its web browsing with 3G speed... I've read that the HTC Dream (google phone) has crazy responsiveness and web browsing speed as well. I'll wait til both are out and make a decision, and if another rumor pops up, I've got to ignore it. If I keep trying to get the latest technology, I'd be waiting forever
I know exactly how you feel. I think I might just go ahead and get it this weekend. Hopefully nothing big happens like the next week. But if they give those rebates or something it might not be such a bad idea. Something that I do know for sure is that they are set to release something before Jan. of 2009, I just don't want to wait that long.
Can anyone explain what 3G means? 3rd Generation iPhone? Also is it only possible to get a phone contract through AT&T still? If so are the costs reasonable?
