I heard on 610, that the Rockets are in the process of signing Loren Woods. However, I have not seen anything. Has anybody else heard anything? Loren Woods would be a good addition since he provides some size (7 feet tall).

you do know that he has already signed a 10 day contract and played in a game situation already? not sure why the Rox would feel compelled to sign him the rest of the way before the initial 10 day contract was up, would seem to limit the Rox more than anything else.

That left handed scoop shot was too pretty that they can't let him walk now.

What ever happened to him? I know that he came from Europe. I remember a lot of hype when he was coming out of Arizona.

the dude must've done something right lately. and it's not like we still have a lot of choices out there this late of the season.

yeah, i'm not discounting the lack of choices, i'm merely pointing out it that would seem a lot more flexible from the rox perspective to keep loren woods on a 10 day contract (in case of injury, in case he just doesn't work out, or something better is made available, etc). if woods works out, great then sign him after the 2nd 10 day contract. no harm, no foul.

He is currently on the Rockets roster. So yes, he would be available for the playoffs if he remains on the roster through the rest of the regular season.

With Loren at the 5 and Landry at the 4, that will atleast enable the Rockets to get some defensive rebounds and not look like that Lakers game in which the Lakers were just killing us on the offensive boards.

yeah I would sign him, you all know how that Justin Williams kid panned out.

Another reason why the Rockets should not listen to the BBS when making personnel decisions.

We need to find beast players who are great offensive rebounders because with Shane Battier it will be something happening more often. He is the sole reason we give up most of those offensive rebounds because of his great defense. Kobe shot 33% thats why we gave up so many offensive rebounds because Battier is a force defensively.

This will give us the ability to give more playing time to young guys so that we dont drop off as a team efficiently when it comes to scoring.

    Just for the record.

Tyson Chandler is the best offensive rebounder in the league.

Tyson Chandler would make a impact power forward.

    A double-double.
    Best offensive rebounder around.
    60% shooting.
    Solid defender.

Can play both center and power forward.
With Chris Paul they lead the league for most ally oops.

I am not comparing Loren Woods to Chandler. I just think that Loren's height is something that the Rocket's sorely miss right now. As it has been said before, Loren is the best option this late in the season.

Don't worry, they never have and never will make a decision based on the BBS.
