So one day after the Tux & Tennies Charity Gala, it's back to nromal business for the Rockets. The Rockets gathered in Toyota Centre on March 28 for a 2-hour team practice in preparation for their 5-game road trip that started with a tough match-up against the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday. A couple of interesting titbits from the team practice, according to the following Sohu.com report from Zhang Yi. http://sports.sohu.com/20080329/n255977513.shtml Tracy McGrady's shoulder aggravated and he was given a complete rest day. According to Rick Adelman, the team will wait to see if TMAC's shoulder will become better right after tomorrow's team practice to decide if he can play on the 30th. In other words, TMAC is now put onto a day-to-day status Calvin Murphy came to the team practice to show support for the team. The team practice lasted for 2 hours, and the players spent a lot of time on practicing their 3-pointers, jumpers and free throws. Towards the end of the team practice, Bobby Jakson, Aaron Brooks and Mike Harris competed against each other on 3-pointer shooting. And Mike Harris won. The Rockets Media Relations Director, Luis Nelson showed the reporters a special T-shirt that the Rockets planned to launch for promoting/supporting Luis Scola in competing for Rookie of the Year. The design and slogan on the T-shirt is yet to be finalized. So no photos yet. But on the T-shirt, it said something like: "The 2008 Decision ~ Luis Scola." The current plan is to print 100+ of the T-shirt to be distributed as free gifts to the 130+ US media/press reporters that have voting rights for ROY.
- tmac better be ready to play (guess his shoulder is worse than i thought) - mike harris is shooting more jumpers the last few games he played so i guess he has some confidence in his perimeter game (but cmon bj and brooks) - calvin still looks good (though always ugly lol) but great to see him supporting the team
Tmac with an "aggregated" shoulder?? Kobe plays with a BROKEN finger. Tmac, really, please suck it up.
it's his pinky on his non-shooting hand that you can tape up pretty well and not really feel a thing b/c it won't move basically (which is what he's doing). the shoulder is another problem.
Not to mention this is probably the most important time to play with West being so close and tmac bails out from an minor setback.
we have a few days before the game and you're already calling him bailing out? didn't he play v. minny. it's just a precautionary statement from adelman. i'm sure he'll play. it can't be worse than the day after. take a few shots of cortisone like he did before minny and play.
didn't he play v. minny? what the hell are you talking about him bailing out. he's resting during REST DAYS.
It's not good to hear TMac shoulder injury got worse. We badly need him in good health and motivated for a win against SAS who is now no.2. The pictures are great and I hope we can beat SAS as we need a win against a good team badly.
Hey....can you give this a break, and STOP hyjacking and turning this thread into another of these meaningless TMAC-bashing thread? Tracy had to take a painkiller before he played last game versus Minnesota Timberwolves. Even though the injured shoulder is only his left shoulder, and not on his shooting right, it will still affect his game adversely, as he needs to use his left hand too for balance or for aiming his shots. There is NOTHING in the article that suggests he will again bail out for the game versus San Antonio Spurs. It is just a rest day for him to nurse his left shoulder with the hope that it would not further aggravate. As Rockets fans, we should look for the best, and not take premature jab and jeer at another star player on the team.
no kidding yall are calling T-Mac out for not practicing and letting his shoulder heal a little before the next 3 weeks of play before the playoffs. get off ur high horse and shut up. its better for the team and him that he sit out now when we have a few days off instead of practicing and not being able to play in the next few games.
