It depends on what you did and how riled up you made people. Cops are not computers. Find another hero.
LOL, yes I am a pansy. Look I admitted the guy was wrong but the police were also wrong. Both parties can be in the wrong. I told you and gave you an example of how proper police tact should have been used and you comeback with name calling and putting words into my mouth. Nice move. You know what 100% of drug users and abusers will keep using drugs no matter the circumstance. You can beat them, tell them, jail them, etc. and they will keep using until THEY recognize they have a problem. I guess you think we should round them all up and execute or live in a police state where what the police believe to be right goes no matter what. Sorry but I do not feel the same.
Um, again, that has nothing to do with the law or a police officer's duty to serve and protect. I'm starting to think you just take whatever position in an argument that makes you look like a jerk for the sake of looking like a jerk.
QFT. I was like ... who's stirring up the pot this time and then I saw it. Of course. Jemele Hill. This isn't worth my time.
huh??? what???? find the post where I called him a hero... I actually stated the cops should only have stopped using force once King stopped. But I can see you are much more interested in labeling people and reacting instead of reading and discussing...
No one is defending him saying he was in the right. But gang beating someone is sadistic when you have other options. I even understand how it could happen in that situation, your adrenaline is running and there are a few of you there and one thing leads to another...it's not inexcusable. But to sit there and defend it after the fact and say it didn't go far enough...?
It doesn't matter. You are still 10000 more times concerned about him getting beaten then what he actually did. That's what is backwards. Nobody protested about what he did. He was nothing but a victim. That's why communities go to crap. If he would have killed you family in a wreck during the high speed chase would you still be so concerned about how the cops treated him? You don't even know who the enemy is.
Like I said he was wrong too. Yes, he went overboard with what he did and the crimes he committed but the police went overboard on what they did as well. I am admitting both parties are wrong. I'm not concerned more about the police than his actions but I find it sad and appalling that somebody would defend the police actions and say they were not enough and should have exceeded what they did. Nobody is defending King in this thread, nobody has said he wasn't wrong but by failing to admit the police were wrong you have the same type of thinking you just posted about.
Why are we talking about this 15 years later? Because of what King did or what the police did? The focus was never on King's actions. The anger was never about King's actions. That's the problem. So saying "Nobody is defending King" is pointless. It means nothing to me.
