T-mac took a painkiller for his shoulder so he could play this game, he was originally going to be scratched. Haters indeed got owned. :p

Really now, everyone just needs to lower their expectations on TMac. If you look at stats of former NBA greats, TMacs FG% are kinda low for the amount of shots that he takes.

His Field Goal percentage compared to other great shooting guards is the lowest.

    ----------- FG%
    Jordan-----.497
    Dumars----.460
    Erving------.507
    McGrady---.439

Dunno if he even deserves to be mentioned on the same breath as those guys but I don't think this is a championship caliber player.

They thought he would be out, but he came 30 minutes before the game and suited up anyway.

all I got to say is "wow" to the comment above. Please tell me your not a man making a comment like that.

I'll admit he steped up tonight and man'd up. There is no reason why he can't play with that energy every night. I don't care about how many points he scores. Just play hard!

dumars??? are you serious? dude was a 3rd-tier type of player at best who hits the open shots. sure he's an all-star, but he was never a franchise player.

jordan was the GOAT. erving was more like a dwade type of player who penetrated a lot.

if you compared tmac to kobe, their fg% is not that much difference career-wise. tmac is 43.9%. kobe is 44%.

are you saying kobe is not a championship-caliber player with his 44% career fg?

but yet kobe is mentioned as the 2nd best SG of all time?

please, posters like you are ridiculous with some of your stuff. it's ridiculous how peopel don't think before they post.

You dare even show yourself in this thread the night he plays hurt and dumps 23 gutsy points and a near double-double? Bad timing, brother. Don't ever get into politics.

    Oilass.

It's not 'way off', but he settles for way too many. It's been like that since his back spasms though, he lost much of his explosiveness. He either needs to drive way more or seriously work on the jump shot. He does make them at clutch moments, though. :)

He seems to drive more during the playoffs which is always good.

True dat, homie G. If T-Mac ( healthy ) were playing with the Lakers right now instead of Kobe, they'd produce similar wins. However, T-Mac and Kobe are two different players. Kobe has histroically been a great offensive and defensive powerhouse while Tracy's been good at the all-around game. T-Mac is more like the old Grant Hill, getting near triple-doubles every game averaging in the lower 20's.

thank god tmac didn't cost his team the game like kobe did tonight. that was just stupid by kobe, giving up 2 4pt-plays on consecutive possessions then getting ejected?

again, until tmac wins, we will keep hearing these criticisms, and the critics will keep nit-picking at every single stupid thing to throw at tmac.

we just hope he'll advance this year and get the monkey off of his back and he can focus on just doing his own thing.

the op, along with a few others, had a legit point imo. it doesn't change after the win tonight or mcgrady's performance.

meanwhile, i'm kinda waiting to hear "i imposed my will..." type of post-game quote.

See, the public likes to think Kobe as someone with a killer instinct and T-Mac as a pussycat ( minus the cat part ). But one can interpret that as Kobe being selfish and Mac being more concerned with getting everyone involved. Tracy doesn't cost the Rockets games with immature pouts of ego like Kobe does. Seeing Tracy play for us in four years here, I can determining he's very unselfish and he's a bit emotional. The reason the team is playing well know *is* a reflection of Tracy, because ( I hate to say this ) without Yao, the players have gotten better. Tracy makes the Heads and the Scolas look better on a nightly basis.

    No, they didnt.

They attacked him because he was talking about his injury. He never said he wouldnt play. He actually said it wasnt serious enough to keep him out of the game.

They took the out of context quote(or was it a flat misunderstanding of the actual quote) and applied it to a popular perception and assumed he was whining.

Again, people see what they want to see, whether it is the truth or not.

all I gotta say is: thank you lord for TMac because without him this franchise would be a laughing stock.
TMac is the best player to wear a rockets uni since the dream retired!

    Tmac deserves a contract extension.
    Get it done Morey!

^^ i used to be a huge fan of him since he entered the league. that changed earlier this season. but i can't say i dislike him. more like a feeling of an ex- from the past years...

it's not a biggie. to me he just never learned what to say and how to say it in front of the media.

Damn, who cares about that aspect of his personality. What should matter is his performance on the court. It's just mind boggling to me how many people use his candid statements to the media as ammunition to attack his game on the court.
