I'm the Rocket fan who likes everyone on the team. Except for that one guy. Not a "bandwagoner" either. I never understood how avid twack bashers like myself could be bandwagoners when they've been watching the rox since they were little. It just so happens that my least fav player in the NBA plays for the Rockets.
I still have my clutchcity and double clutch vhs tapes despite not owning a vcr. i keep them at my parents house. had to order it off the internet like 7-8 years ago, it was the first thing I had ever purchased on the internet.
i still got the vhs tapes too! the dvd version of clutch city 1 doesn't come with the Kathy Mattea's hit single "Walking Away A Winner" I was so happy that this VHS was in Hi-Fi (STEREO)
I suppose you can characterize me as a "new school" fan. I've been a fan for quite some time, but I can honestly say that last year was the year I became an avid fan. I support this team through thick and thin. I think it matters on the type of person, quite honestly.
Being a fan means you give a damn enough that you feel like you can b**** about your team. If you don't care, you won't be b****ing. Actually if you stick with them even though you b**** about them, it means you're a real fan. That said, I haven't been able to watch my other favorite team (Knicks) for a few years now. I won't go back until they fire Isiah.
More like pessimist then realist. Trade T Mac and Trade Yao? Then you have a squad of journeymen. As difficult as it may be to win a championship with both, due to their seeming inability to both stay healthy. Trading both as you suggested would turn the Rockets into a lottery team for the foreseeable future.
Um obviously you didn't really grasp what I was trying to say? Do I want to trade Yao, Yes I do but that will never ever happen even if he sits on the bench for the next 20 years... So I have to live with it.. That's why I never post trade Yao Scenarios.. It will never happen. But when it comes to T-mac that is very doable and the fact that you want equal value is a pipe dream... Redd+Charlie, Artest, something along those lines does not make you a lottery team... If anything it make you more competitive but I won't explain why and I'll have you figure that one our yourself..
Dunno bout old school and new school stuff. I consider myself casual. Watch them all the time and go to at least one game at TC (also back when it was the Summit) per year. Although I consider myself avid, I hardly want to talk about them when they lose. When they go on some kinda wining tear I get fired up so I read up and talk about them. No use raising your blood pressure when they lose. Dunno why fans need to be categorized. We all cheer for the same team.
These threads usually end up with "my dildo rocket is bigger then yours" type of pissing matches. That said, if you're a Rockets Fan and didn't get a chance to see Hakeem play live and follow his Rockets career from beginning to end, then I feel bad for you.
