Does anyone know a good, moderately priced maid service? My wife currently pays $60 to her friend to come over and clean house, but the girl does a ****ty job. My wife called up a maid service (Merry Maids) who came and gave a quote of like $120 every other week ($180 for the first cleaning). Does anyone know of any other reputable maid services that are considerably cheaper than this? We were willing to pay more than the $60 that she is paying her friend, but not twice as much. And thanks but no thanks in advance to all those that post links or pics to the topless maid services.

Where are you? We have used our maid for 18 years, she has been reliable and does a great job. We live in the Meyerland area and she comes from Missouri City, so if you are close to either of these areas she may work out for you.
Look for RocketMan95's maid service thread... I believe there are some recommendations in there, Raven. who would want to clean a raven lunatic's house?
Man, here I was thinking most posters in this thread would be unhelpful but also not funny, but I was wrong. You guys are absolutely hilarious.
I forgot... we live in cypress, 3400 sq foot house, 100 every 2 weeks and that includes doing any laundry that has piled up.
Can't really help you, since you live in Deer Park. But I CAN say that you should avoid Merry Maids. They just drag a (dirty) wet rag over everything. I used them once but never again. My TV, computer monitor, and appliances were dirtier than they were before they "cleaned". I seriously had to Windex everything when I got home. I paid them an extra $50 to clean the oven, but it looked exactly the same when I got home. Avoid them.
Well, that the thing, I don't have any neighbors that know anyone. I want someone that works for themselves but that someone would recommend. That's why I was posting here. Obivous businesses like Merry Maids we can contact ourselves, but I was hoping someone would know someone that would be willing to come to our area.
Actually not true. Most ppl who hang outside Home Depot are day laborers who do outside/heavy tasks like construction, painting, flooring and landscaping. But if you ask the day laborer if they know a maid, they usually will. You can pay the maid around 8-9 bucks an hour and they will be quite happy.
Well, we keep the gimp locked up for about 22 hours a day and he's content to just live in his own filth, so not much extra there. We only have live sacrifices every new moon, so that will be a bit extra. Then there's the Killing Floor. But don't let the name fool you. It's not really a floor, it's more of a steel grating that allows material to sluice through so it can be collected and exported. All exposed surfaces of our sex-box are teflon-coated, so that's an easy wipe off cleaning right there. Gloves recommended. So all in all, a pretty normal household. Seriously, we have 2 dogs (short hairs that don't shed TOO awfully much) and one cat (whom I would love if it got caught up in a vacuum cleaner "accidentally" and killed) that sheds WAY too much. We try to keep baby toys picked up. Mostly it is a clean house, but my wife has several shelves with a great many knick-knacks that can be a pain in the ass to dust and dust under.
