The Bobbsey Twins of hate have a lot of nerve. For months you two have been intentionally misspelling Obama's name and constantly injecting his middle name to insinuate this man was some kind of Muslim terrorist lying in wait and now you have the nerve to call him a racist for what he's never said and clearly denounced in the strongest terms possible. You two are ridiculous. I haven't listened to a lot of these clips because I just really don't care what preachers have to say normally but I dare either of you to point out the racism in that first clip above. If anything it's nothing but absolute truth about the history of the United Sates and its policies against Native Americans and African-Americans. That speech is all about having faith in the lord and not in government because of the record of failure by government.
That does not agree with Obama's actions. He sat in that Church for 20 years, thereby implicitly endorsing Wright's behavior. Words versus actions, friendo.
Would you rather have a President who for 20 years was a drunk (and who made regular runs to Mexico for hookers and blow) or a President who attended church and performed community service (without being judicially motivated) for 20 years? Long live Hookers and Blow!!!
Is trying to change the subject to President Bush proof of a lost argument? I guess you can't defend Obama's actions, honoring a racist, bigot and anti-semite for 20 years... telling...
Yellers suck. As opposed to a President who "never inhaled" mar1juana and spent a good part of his time in office nailing interns? The fact of the matter is that most politicians have skeletons in the closet. I am much more interested in their behavior leading up to their campaign than I am in their youth. The thing that bothers me about the whole "this was spun" argument is that Obama made a very lengthy speech and never once indicated that Wright was taken out of context or that there was anything more to the story.
Why does that bother you? I'd rather Obama was honest and upfront instead of playing a "we was robbed" sob story about context. Contrast that for example with Hillary, who shied away from owning up to her flat out lying regarding the bosnia trip.
I am certainly not voting for Obama, who has told the American public that he has a way to stop all foreclosures without bankruptcy. The sad thing about this foreclosure mess is that oftentimes, they are also behind on their car, property taxes, etc. A Chapter 13 is the best option for them to deal with all their problems.
Obama supports him as spiritual advisor, and not a political one. He has stated plainly that he disagrees with the few selected objectional statements from Wright. You are correct that it does speak to Obama's character that rather than throw Wright under the bus, and he said that while he finds the bits and pieces offensive, wrong, and disagreeable, he stood his ground and wouldn't repudiate Wright as a person. Excellent character indeed.
I find it funny that Obama is going to be a bigger disaster than Jimmy Carter but Republicans are going going along with it for fear of Hillary Clinton.
McCain implicitly supports a guy who thinks america was founded to destroy islam. Both have made the (correct) statement that they do not have to agree with every bloody thing said by a particular person to value their input, or trust their judgement on wholly unrelated ideals/issues. We are all guilty of this "implicit support" argument. Those making it are just plain fooling themselves if they think they are any different. Seriously, how absurd is it to demand that Obama disown Wright because of some offensive remarks - remarks that Obama has plainly disagreed with? Who can claim they uphold the same standard?
garlic noses? italian lynchings? [rquoter](CNSNews.com) - Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., pastor emeritus of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago where Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) has been a member for two decades, slurred Italians in a piece published in the most recent issue of Trumpet Newsmagazine. "(Jesus') enemies had their opinion about Him," Wright wrote in a eulogy of the late scholar Asa Hilliard in the November/December 2007 issue. "The Italians for the most part looked down their garlic noses at the Galileans." Wright continued, "From the circumstances surrounding Jesus' birth (in a barn in a township that was under the Apartheid Roman government that said his daddy had to be in), up to and including the circumstances surrounding Jesus' death on a cross, a Roman cross, public lynching Italian style. ... "He refused to be defined by others and Dr. Asa Hilliard also refused to be defined by others. The government runs everything from the White House to the schoolhouse, from the Capitol to the Klan, white supremacy is clearly in charge, but Asa, like Jesus, refused to be defined by an oppressive government because Asa got his identity from an Omnipotent God."[/rquoter]
Did anyone hear the Easter Sermon from Trinity? Its titled "How Do You Handle A Public Lynching," and it is about the public lynching of Rev Wright.
