thomas is a solid defender and rebounder, and his mid-range j is no joke either when open.

hayes has a history of unable to defend tall pf's who can shoot over him due to his height; scola is not getting the respect from the refs. whom do you think we can use to neutralize td? landry? deke?

and that's not considering the back court matchups.

our only hope is imo for our perimeter shots and 3 pointers to fall like crazy.

i could be wrong (some mentality you don't have, yet); and hope i'm wrong. but until proven, i think i'm right on this one.

so in the nba, it's either a SURE loss or a SURE win? is that what you're saying? are you saying it's a sure win in your mind?

Bill: No such thing as an almost sure win/loss.
    Clyde: You saying it's a sure win/loss.

    wtf.

Last time we lost to Spurs the game was close. No Landry. Bonzi sucked big time and Rafer was sucking as well.

the last thing i worry about is kirk thomas. Deke can contain Duncan offensive moves in the paint.

hayes , battier can handle manu.

    alston and bobby against parker.

i am only scared of the coaching stff.

Give me.. New orleans, Dallas, GSW, or Jazz in that order...i think we have a legit show against all these teams...and yes we might be able to beat the Spurs or Suns..but right now i think these four are our best chances in advancing..

Nugget or Jazz. Nugget just can't play D.

we went from spur's biatch (sorry) to matching up with them decently only because yao has gradually become a force over the years. the spurs barely changed.

deke containing td, hayes handling manu, alston and bjax against parker? all these seem unlikely to me. and no bonzi, or any big guards, to body up their back court.

again, i could be wrong. but all indications point to a loss for us. if it is a 7-game series, then i for sure will bet some $$ on the wagerline.

Thomas is only 6'9. Chuck won't have any difficult to defending him.

Compared to the Lakers (with the potential front line of Bynum, Gasol, and Odom) or the Suns, I think the Spurs actually play smaller in the middle. Again, I'll have to reevaluate that matchup later this month when we play them, but some how they don't scare me as much.

i was talking about duncan. hayes will not play center and defend thomas (unless adelman goes for a crazily samll lineup for a few minutes).

w/o yao, we will have trouble big time against teams with big and good 4's and 5's. everyone knows it. i think logically, the suns pose the biggest trouble. so are the spurs. the lakers to a less extent only because bynum likely won't be a huge force immediately after his coming back.

in a sense, the suns could've been a better-than-before match up for us if we still had yao playing. and utah possibly, on the contrary, is a better match up for us now w/o yao (okur is not a big inside threat). but all match-ups are just on paper. the actual games still need to be played. so you never know.

I think the Jazz would probably be the best matchup, and hopefully we can get home court advantage cause they're dangerous at their home. We'll want revenge, and I think we can what it takes to beat them this year.

Golden State is a running, athletic team, and don't forget that the playoffs are tiring as it is, so I'm sure that they'll wear our players out in such a running game, especially as we don't have Yao. It will also impact the players and their fatigue in the 2nd round, so the best match up would probably end up being the Jazz or perhaps Dallas.

I'd like us to play the Utah Jazz or the Dallas Mavericks just to avenge our Game 7 losses from years past. How sweet would it be to beat them to reach the second round?

Utah jazz will NOT be a tough match if we have homecourt advantage. Scola can defend Boozer, boozer is 6'9, same height. If he was 7+ feet tall than yeah, we'd have a matchup problem. Deke probably isn't the best center to be playing vs them though. Someone that can guard the perimeter like chuck should be fine vs Okur. Only problem might be deron but battier can guard him if rafer can't get the job done.

I think we could not only beat golden state, but it would be quite entertaining

If Dirk is out for the playoffs, then I'd go with the Mavs. If Dirk isn't out for the players, then I'd go with the Mavs.
