Don't know if this has already been posted. Looks like a problem's occurring. For those of you who have read Chapter 4 I believe of Freakonomics, the writers may have something to add on to it and maybe think of an entirely new theory. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/12/s...e94c765cf6371edc&ei=5070&emc=eta1&oref=slogin
And if someone can please edit the title, it should read "1 in 4 Teenage Females has an STD". Thanks.
I think they would be better served exercising abstinence during the moronic years. It's very difficult to be well-informed and act like a 'responsible adult' when you're a teenager. Once you're old enough to be reasonably expected to act responsible, then feel free to be promiscuous. But that's just my take...
It talked about the reason crime rate went down during the 1990s was mainly due to abortion became legal.
Some STDs like Herpes are transmitted skin contact. So even if you wear condom, while you can prevent your genitals from infected, your skin not covered by condom is still in danger of getting infected. The scariest thing about Herpes is that there are currently no cure, only ways to relieve the symptoms.
My sister works in a small office with about 7 other females aged 25-18. She urged them all to get tested for HPV. Only 2 did. One had cancer caused by the HPV. The other just had the virus. STD's was my biggest concern because of the nature of my relationship. But so far only one other female was involved and I saw the results for her work up.
Where are they finding these girls to poll? Are they paying crack heads off the street to come in for testing?
I'm stunned. Sex becomes more prevalent as the years go on. Unprotected sex becomes more prevalent as the years go on. Female "liberation" encourages women to "enjoy themselves" more instead of letting the men have all the fun. STDs go up? I don't see a connection...
