The only equivalence that I could find in those two clips is that a man is running on the street. I have no idea what you are talking about. I'd think there have been tens of thousands of commercials, movies, TV series or music video that shows an athlete is running on the street ever since Rocky II came out (like 20 years ago?). And I really like that you have to emphasize your point with it being 'cheap'. Yeah, that's a cheap shot on your part.
Can Yao just buy a pair of Nike and stick the Reebok logo on them? Reebok --- "I am what I am.... a pair of suuker"
And Anta shoes can be found in > 4,000 sales outlets all over China...... http://www.anta.com.cn/eng/advantages/network.htm
If you are going to make a joke get it right. That's the scene for Rocky and it doesn't work because no one follows him. In Rocky II has you allude to the do pretty much the same scene except all these kids start following him and running with him all through town. So next time you want to make a joke get it right please.

Yeah, I know. The other one was too long so I just used this clip instead, I figured those familiar with the reference would get it. The similarities are the kids running behind him and him running up the stairs. I thought it was pretty obvious, too. Not a bad thing, just not very creative. I loved his older commercials with Apple and Visa, but unlike Reebok those companies produce 'quality' products/services. Further proof that Reebok likes to recycle the same 'theme' over and over again. Well, at least with AI's commercial he was in Philly and the landmarks were immediately recognizable. It had a bit more credibility, but still unimaginative. The odd thing is that I liked quite a few of AI's Reebok commercials, so may be part of it is the 'messenger' as well. Anyways, carry on...
The shots at the beginning with skyline and buildings in prominent view are from Houston (new Enron, Allen Center, etc.). Others with the buildings way in the background, it's hard to tell.
Thanks Pruyen.....although I have to say that commercial is pretty corny....no offense. They could've atleast made him do a more impressive dunk, although I don't think Yao can do any other type of dunks besides jumping 10 inches and simply dunking it......
...I thought it was this year too...or at the end of last year...I just remember walking out of Toyota and seeing the crew break down across the street...at the basketball court...after it rained!!!! ...amorephd...
This commercial really sucked ass... Check out Battier's commercial for some real quality stuff. <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_Bv-WrL78u4&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_Bv-WrL78u4&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object> Anyone got the Scola/Argentina commercial for a Chinese shoe company?
Probably a European ad and shoe. And I don't mind the Yao commercial. It seems no one has said it yet but what I got from the commercial is that he carries a whole country's hopes on his shoulders. He is the face of China in the NBA.
That's China Peak's ad........and the voice is from Shane Battier himself. He did that commercial when he visited China last summer.
the voice sounded a little like shane's. Same tone and depth but with the weird accent. Maybe they had him do a fake accent because they think it goes over better. Then again it may very well not be him.
