i think we were fouling alot b/c we were tired. b/c we couldn't move our feet, we instead reached a lot -> fouls. it's a sign of fatigue.

I dont think it really matters who we play. I wont be surprised if we beat any team in the first round, and wouldnt be surprised if any team beat us in the first round. The west is just that close this year. I see every first round series going at least 6 games no matter what the matchups are.

With us specifically, I think it all comes down to the three point shot. Teams can focus on stopping Tmac from driving, and obviously we have no realy post threat. But to Tmacs credit he always seems able to get open threes for his teammates. Head, Battier, Alston, and Jackson need to catch fire.

I normal situations, we can not win 22 games in a row. It happens. We can beat or lose to anyone in the first round.

Right, but he's a class A idiot. Your previous statement was like saying that our 22 winning streak was a fluke.

We DO NOT want to face the Suns in the 1st round, or any round for that matter.

If we had Yao, it would be a different story but as it stands, the Suns would be our worst possible 1st round matchup.

You can call last night a fluke all you want, but it happened. We don't want to face Stoudemire and Shaq in a seven game series without Yao Ming. If you think the Game 7 losses against Dallas and Utah were discouraging...

Yep, w/o any size upfront we have no chance against the suns, stoudemire + shaq.

    Agreed mostly, but not completely.

    Where I agreed:

    - Yes, we did get destroyed inside, on the board in particular, but also on defending against Shaq's big body. He pretty much could score at will with our only defense was hack-a-Shaq - we pretty much made Shaq look young again.

    Where I disagreed:
    - Suns shot the lights out on the first half. On a 7-game series, they won't shoot like that overall.

That said, amongst the possible playoff teams, I'd rank these as easiest opponent for Rox:

    1. Denver
    2. Golden State
    3. San Antonio (yeah, we know how to defend Duncan pretty well, even without Yao. Plus, SA is getting old and tired)
    4. Utah (the mismatch of Yao-Boozer is no longer - Landry can shut down Boozer and Scola can easily shut down Memo)
    5. Dallas (esp. now they lost Dork Nowitzki - said to be 2 weeks, but looks worse than that)
    6. New Orleans (hard to go against such active front court in West and Chandler and such strong PG, and we just gave them a revived Wells)
    7. Phoenix ('nuff said)
    8. Lakers (assuming Bynum and Gasol are back - hard to play against twin towers with skills)

I'm a pretty big homer, but did you just say Landry can shut down Boozer and Scola Okur?
I think w/o Yao we won't get owned by Boozer but we can't shut him down. Scola and Okur is a wash, maybe. Plus we didn't exactly play well the last time we played them.

I completely disagree. One bad game doesn't change the fact that the Rockets match up very well with the Suns. And I like the Rockets chances of beating Utah.

We're class with the Suns and team is tired obviously but I'm not sure if Houston can beat Suns in 4 times, that's the problem, with Yao that would be completly different story...

i don't agree with that lol. amare is good but Shaq has made him a lot better since defenses can't key in on him in the paint anymore. he isn't that much better than Al Jefferson

I totally disagree. Replace Jefferson with Amare, or even add Amare along side Jefferson, and you still have a lottery team in this deep West.

A better hypothetical: Put Amare on the Bobcats and perhaps they make the playoffs in the East.
