I'm am dumbfounded...got home late...watched DVR'ed game...never seen a freethrow shooting extravaganza like this before....I'm sure this is being mentioned elsewhere on this board...but too pissed to look...Phoenix shot more freethrows than made fieldgoals.....wow...loss for words...we really fought tonight.....We made 5 more field goals than them(10 points) and still lost this one by 9 points....I am 32 years old and have been watching the rockets since i was born....i should be used to this by now being a rocket fan and all...but DAMN.....27-20..rockets to stoudemire freethrows...and we were driving..BS in my book. If we get half the calls they did tonight, we get the win or at least lose a close one. period.

not to mention they shot something like 65% from the field in the first half. i'd say that shooting percentage is pretty ridiculous too.

i'm dumfounded that your status is rookie but you've been here for almost two years and have 2600+ posts.

Most of Amare's calls were legit, if that helps anything. He was just way too friggin fast for Scola.

Shaq's calls made me hit my head most of the time (elbow in Deke's face=defensive foul?)...what made me cry is that he actually made the FTs.

I think Amare should "only" have had about 14 legit ft attempts. Almost EVERYTIME he received a pass of a pick and roll and went to the rim no matter who was in front of him, the ref would blow the whistle. As though he's entitled to his path to the rim cuz his teammate was "assisting" on the play.

How about Shaq and Amare a combined 61 points
on only 25 combined shot attempts

Took McGrady 31 shots to score 30.

The refs absolutely screwed the Rockets tonight.

FWIW, I checked to see what the record was and in 1990, Phoenix made 61 FT against the Jazz.

The most FT attempts in a game is 86 by Syracuse against Anderson (who had 74 FTA) in 1956. That was a 5 OT game.

The fewest FT attempts ever was 2 by the Cavs against the Warriors in '94.

That's how you got destroyed in the paint. Shaq+Amare were too much for a team without real center.

    Unheard?

On the beginning of the season Rockets were shut down by the same Suns, who shot 77% in one half, this time 78% but with Shaq!

Definently team I wouldn't like in the playoffs, because we have no dominant presence in the paint...

To me, the most ridiculous thing is that the Rockets got 29 more shots than the Suns and still lost. 98-69!!! How about making 1/3 of those missed shots? Even 1/4 of those?

I don't mind Amare getting those calls as long as we get the same call the other way, which we don't. When our guys penetrate they don't get the same volume of calls, it's very simple. There were several plays last night where Scola was knocked around pretty good, no call.

The other thing I hate is you can get Shaq and Amare to the 5 foul count and the foul calling on them is over. Refs aren't gonna blow them for the sixth unless the game is out of reach. That's bologna.

The refs helped them a lot yesterday. Everytime Stoudamire drived, they called a foul.
