I'm in total agreement. We need a tall backup center than can block a few, rebound some, and give us another offensive option after Deke retires (hopefully this year).

And I think I know the ideal guy.

    RAEF LAFRENTZ

Think about it. He's an expiring next season, will likely get bought out at the trade deadline after being traded. We could sign him for the minimum at that point. He's 6'11", plenty of length, great distance shooter, and used to have a very decent interior game. He's still got the ability to block a few shots and pull some boards. No, he's not a great defender and never has been. But if he were, he'd be up for another $10 mill per year deal after this one expires. And best of all, he can easily swing to the PF position if someone goes twin towers on us and be very effective. I think he'd be ideal coming off the bench as Yao's replacement next year. Can't think of anybody better we could get for a low salary.

    ^^^^^^
please no Raef. I never want to be a fan of a team with a player they rely on called Raef LaFrentz (just imagine the nicknames you would see here) :D However I do remember one breakout game he had against the Rockets, but that happens to a lot of scrubs playing the Rox it seems. (same thing last night with Pietrus.)

I actually think Raef would be good for the Rockets, remember he wouldn't get alot of minutes because of Yao, Hayes, and possibly Mutombo. He's a great situational player that would help us.
