I have tried the new Radiohead. What I have heard is really mellow and I didn't think it would work for a Friday night but this one will. Thanks

first thing you need to do is get over yourself.

the second thing you need to do is listen to the black lips.

It's not about me, it's about the playlist. The playlist damn it!

I just checked out the Black lips on youtube. I already have a bunch of Estrus Records music etc which they sound like. I have done it to death on past Friday night playlists.

Thanks. I really mean it. I do.

    BK? Ok. Why not.

    death from above 1979?
OK, but is it just me or is this another band that sounds like Beck?

BTW, I just got home from work, turned on Conan and there is another band with a girl sitting at a piano. How many of those are there now?

    I recommend the following:

    1. Cheap Trick- Heaven Tonight

    2. The Replacements- Pleased to Meet Me

    3. The Call- Reconciled

    4. The Pretenders- The Pretenders

    5. The Smithereens- Especially For You

    6. The Cars- Panorama

    7. Screaming Blue Messiahs- Gun Shy

    8. They Might Be Giants- Flood

    9. Van Halen- Women and Children First

    10. Judas Priest- British Steel

All of those records have an energy about them that fits in with groups like The Clash, The Ramones, BHS, etc. Even though most are well-known, the CDs above are not typically the most popular from those bands (e.g. The Cars, Candy-O, and Heartbeat City are much more popular than Panorama).

If I had to pick one to get into from that group, it would have to be Pleased to Meet Me from The Replacements.

are you even checking out the bands listed? DFA sounds nothing like Beck...like someone else said...get over yourself. you're way to picky...i think its best if you just find new music yourself.

I checked them all out and I do appreciate it. I'm learning a lot. I have heard of a bunch of these before. Now I am knowing who is who.

My best bud was playing Black Keys the last time I saw him. It's cool.

I looked up 1979 and saw/heard this below. To me it sounds like a Beck song. I'm not saying that its bad. Beck is fine, just been around for 10 years. I don't mind the song. It's alright.

I love 90% of what you listed. I don't think I have listened to The call or Screaming Blue Messiahs before though. Are they newer?
