One more thing is I understand why people is so upset at T-Mac, but he can't do it by his self. Do he need to drive more YES do he need to show more emotion and get on some of his teamates a** when they messing up YES. But one thing you got to say about T-Mac come playoff time he always step up his game and that is a fact.
I WASNT ABLE TO WATCH THE GAME TONIGHT BUT THIS IS THE CONCLUSION I CAME TO FROM READING THE COMMENTS During the ROCKETS 22 GAME WINNING STREAK everyone made comments about how they loved the TEAM ball and how we are a true team how it takes 5 and countless other cliches. With that said, In the words of TO "they lost as a team" if the positives comments were aimed at the team the negatives have to be aimed at the team. Point being, STOP BLAMING TMAC ONLY, FOR THE LOSSES
They was not expecting Yao to miss the whole season before they made this trade either. Just bad luck dog.
I agree with everyone who has mentioned their disappointment with Adelman's rotations the past 2 games. If we're in a defensive struggle [last night and tonight], why not see if Novak and Head can give you an offensive boost and then re-insert your clamp down defensive guys? Especially when you feel the momentum starting to turn. The other thing the bugged me tonight was Bonzi going off. I think he's a world class jerk, but every dog has his day... unfortunately this one was against the rockets. I'm sure in the next few games he'll injure a finger or a toe and have to sit out a few games, then spend a few games 'working his way' back into shape or 'getting his timing down' and then in what turns into a 6 game gap he'll have another good game. That seemed to be pretty much what he did for us. He was really good about every 6th game or so. Also, it seemed like Chris Paul was in Rafer's head this whole game.
Now it is back to reality, we should talk about get into playoff, although we are 3rd seed now, not far from 8rd seed with the way we are playing last two games.
I love this Bonzi argument, how the Rockets could sure use him since he scored 19 on us tonight...well just to shed more light on it, let's take a look at his production since being traded. 2pts, 5pts, 2pts, 8pts, 7pts, 8pts, 19pts (surprise, surprise against us) Since being traded he's averaged 7.3 Now let's take a look at B. Jackson. 14pts, 0pts, 5pts, 4pts, 5pts, 10pts, 2pts, 5pts, 6pts, 0pts, 19pts, 6pts Since being traded he's averaged 7.1 Seems like a wash to me, in fact Jackson has played in more games than Bonzi...almost twice as much. Yeah he could give you a post presence that is lacking..but he's no Yao, and would only weakly mask our deficiencies in the frontcourt. And remember, for every good game he had, just as the above stats show, he has probably 5-6 bad games. Bonzi is not gonna be the reason this team doesn't advance far into the postseason (if that's the case).
Rockets will sign a big man probably tomorrow. I hope it is D Davis and not Loren Woods. Neither bring much offense but i'd rather have a physical presence behind Deke in the paint. L Woods has never been known as a worker in the paint. We will also get Landry back, boy do we miss his dunks in the paint. We really need to get more easy baskets. Once we get that offense in the paint back on the floor, the offense will start to run better. Since Landry has been out teams don't have to worry about anyone in the paint so they overplay the pick and roll. They take T-Mac away from the paint. Im sure Scola misses him as well, they really played well off each other.
This was always going to be a tough stretch for the Rockets. Hopefully they will put their heads up after these two blow out losses and play well in their next game. They need to work on offense, causes the last two games have yielded us 74 and 69 points, well below our average. Lets hope Landry comes back soon. Tmac has had 3 bad games in a row, hopefully he will rebound with better shooting. For those who say the team is better without Yao, think again without Yao we don't have a inside outside game, unless Tmac drives to the paint, and If he can't we are screwed.
it's not the loss. it's how they lost. both games. some people's logic is mind-boggling. so winning 22 in a row tires our legs, what? you think the team that we beat don't get tired? did the lakers get tired after beaten on sunday and did they beat dallas last night? did the celts get tired after beating the spurs and did they beat us squarely? at this late stage of the season, which team in the playoff hunt is not tired? geez. adelman said it himself. the most dangerous thing to do is to look BACK to the streak. we need to keep in mind that a playoff seat has not been a given, yet. that's why i'm upset by the last 2 blowout losses, because if we keep playing this way there is a real danger that we might be out of the post-season altogether.
This was really expected. I mean, the Rockets did good for 3 quarters, then simply ran out of gas. They lost 90 minutes of rest (late start last night and early start tonight) in a back to back against 2 top teams and add that to losing 2 important players in their rotation (Laundry and Yao - I know he's gone for the season but you know). They ran out of fresh legs and let Bonzi have his revenge on RA. It is not easy to win a game in the NBA, just ask the Spurs and Nuggets. who did the Nuggests play today? It's all good, they lost and kept the 9th spot 6 games away. It's the pad the Rockets got to make the playoff. Now can they win in GS? Not if Deke plays big minutes because there is noone for him to guard! So, if Carl is not back, the odds would be very low for the Rockets to win. I mean, Scola and Hayes is the only bigs we got and they both cannot play 48 mins!!!!!! Hayes is back to the old Hayes, great defense but cannot buy a layup if it was free. Boy, if Yao was still playing... what if....
morey made the trade didn't he and the streak was nice but besides t-mac bonzi was the only one who could create his own shot.
it would take a monumental collapse for denver to catch the rox, but dropping to a 8 seed is possible given that GS would only be 2 games behind in the loss column and own the tiebreaker if they beat the rox on Friday.
The Sky-Is-Falling crowd is back in full effect. Did you think the Rockets were going to waltz to the finals without Yao Ming and Carl Landry? Did you think that Tracy McGrady, Bobby Jackson and Rafer Alston were going to put up 70 points a game? The same team that has been the best team in the league in 2008 has hit a wall, but they'll be fine. Their defense is too good for them to fall of the face of the earth. The season is already success... anything they do without their best player in the most competitive NBA season ever is gravy after the wonderful basketball they've played for the last few months. If you know-nothings and never-did-anythings want to insult the Rockets and question the character of some of their players just because you can't handle the ups and downs of something as insignificant as being a fan then you are better off doing something else with your free time.
