Yao Ming Paid Tribute and Saluted His Team Mates

Now that the historic winning streak of the Houston Rockets got snapped at 22 by the Boston Celtics.

Not sure what Yao Ming will comment/critique about the performance of his team mates, in particularly Tracy McGrady.

But he paid tribute and saluted his team mates by heaping accolade of praises for TMAC, Rafer Alston and Shane Battier after his team beat the LA Lakers for win #22.

Here is what he said....according to Wang Meng of Titan Sports.

The Houston Rockets beat the LA Lakers, managed to extend its winning streak to 22, and climbed to the top of the Western Conference. Yao Ming sat and watched the whole game through the television (at his home). At the buzzer, Uncle Mutombo was seen ecstatically lifted his arms up high, waving his fingers vigorously, 2 fingers on the right, and another 2 fingers on the left, and shouting loudly and repeatedly: "22, 22."

Yao Ming heaved a big sigh: “If only I could be with them……that would be great!!” Yao Ming kept murmuring this over and over. Then he started happily to comment and critique about this game (and the performance of his team mates).

“In the fourth quarter, Maizi 麦子 (i.e. Tracy McGrady) finally started to make his shots. I knew his body conditions had not been good recently. He was just too tired having to play 48 minutes full recently in 2 games. Maizi, and the other one on the opposite side (i.e. Kobe Bryant) are such kind of players, that when they are in condition and on fire, then they are unstoppable. Have we often heard that you will kill human if they get into your way, and you chop down the Buddha if the Buddha stands in your way? 人挡杀人，佛挡杀佛. I have no worry about Tracy. Just take a look at his facial expression, and I knew he would step up for this team.”

"The key person in offense for the Houston Rockets in this game is obviously Rafer (Alston). He hit that many 3-pointers. Look at how determined he released those treys, and the arc were so high. He just played insanely out of his usual self. I think he must have slept in the church last night (and God listened to his prayers). Now that his self-confidence had completely been restored and he had to thank Rick Adelman for it. In fact, during the tenure of Jeff Van Gundy, beside me and Tracy, Rafer was the only other player that got the freedom and right to shoot. But this Adelman’s systems had let him raised his skills and performance to another level. He is now one of the best point guards in NBA.”

“But as far as I’m concerned, the key guy in this victory is Shane Battier. He is always one of the best defensive players in NBA, but always got overlooked and under-valued. Now everyone should take note of him. As far as he is concerned, I think, this is a statement game for him. As repeatedly illustrated in those slow motion replays on television, he let everybody realize how great in defense he had been playing. And all Kobe Bryant got was the palms of Shane all over his face, and he could not even find the basket. Now maybe Kobe Bryant will remember every finger print of Shane by heart.”

Yao is a great player and a great teammate! I think he would feel sad tonight. With him, at least the rockets are able to fight till the last second!

If Yao cared, he would stop pretending to be injured so he can rest for Chinese National Games and help his Rockets!

He must not care!

Just kidding. I love Yao. I really wish he could have been with us for the whole 22 and then F*** UP the Boston Celtics for 23.

Well it's common sense to know that it is not easy to have to play these rough and tough NBA games 48 minutes full......

Not once but twice within a span of less than 7 days.
