We are still in first place in the Western Conference So, even though we got hammered tonight, there is still a game tomorrow night that is VERY meaningful. And it is going to be tough to hold onto 1st place in both the division and conference. Right now we have 15 games left, and 10 are on the road. Starting with New Orleans tomorrow and then a back to back Friday and Saturday with Golden State and Phoenix. But for now, we are STILL in first place. DD
Don't mean anything the important stuffs is to regain the confidence and play as we did when we had winning streak
If we were going during these 5 games, this was the game. We can afford to lose to the Celtics, they are in the East. If the Rox finish these 5 games at 3-2 it will be amazing. But the most important game of them all is tomorrow. Then beat Phoenix and lose to GSW. If that happens we will still be #1.
Why is it lame? We lost one game, big deal. There is a much bigger prize out there.......why not go for the whole thing? Get back on the horse and get tomorrow's game..... They are still in first place.....FIRST....in the entire Western Conference......that is huge..... The Rockets melted down in one half, not a full game one half....it happens...learn from it, move on, and get back to winning. TOMORROW !! DD
It's the 4th game in a row where the Rockets suffered a prolonged scoring drought in the middle of the game. Landry can't come back soon enough.
all it takes is one whistle....... jk When the Rockets crash they crash HARD. Its really nothing new...gotta keep it one day at a time. Resting McGrady was a good move by Adelman. Hopefully Rafer will show up tomorrow pumped like the last time they played.
My problem is, the standings might no longer appropriately represents how good our team is. I'm by no means suggesting that the team got significantly worse with the loss to Boston, but you'd be lying to yourself if you looked at our roster and didn't think they were playing over their head and overachieving the past 22 games. The Boston game was a cold harsh reality check, and it's extremely demoralizing after we've been riding on the streak for the past month and half. I think most of us know, momentum is a funny thing. When you have it, you feel invincible and everything goes your way; it's also fragile in that when and if you lose it, the sky comes crashing down on you, and it's difficult, if not impossible, to recover. I'm eager (more like anxious) to see how the team bounces back tomorrow... and the two games after that. The team is going to have to dig deep and find something quick to keep them going for the road trip.
The problem is...it took a loss to bring it out. It shouldn't. You knew it was going to end eventually, and *technically* this team we have was on a 10 game winning streak. Now the streak is over. This Yao-less ( ) Rockets is what you'll see in the playoffs. Boston ended our 10 game streak, so now we have 15 games and the playoffs to show what's really up.
I have no beef with fact that the streak is over, as all streaks do. But this was a second half BLOWOUT, with KG shoving down dunks down our throat while our players watched haplessly. I think our teamwork and hustle managed to compensate with the lack of size and talent vs. the above average teams. Unfortunately, we found out tonight that Boston is not just another "above average team". Everything is fine and dandy when we're on fire and the 3 ball is falling, but the lack of front court size and post presence will continue to haunt us, and I don't see a simple (or any) solution to it as long as Yao is out of the lineup.
This game doesn't really show me anything I didn't know. The celtics have been beating everyone, they're blowing many teams out. They also hustle just as hard as the rockets. If you look at differentials the Celtics are really killing teams and it doesn't really mean anything to loose to them. The real test will come when we play the other western conference contenders. They actually defended pretty good today, they held the Celtics to 94 pts. They just need to score, you won't win many games when you best scorer doesn't score. Tmac has just lost so much of his atheleticism i fear that there may not be much the rockets can do against defense this good.
