Princess, I'm sorry if the humor in my post was lost. I was trying to be flippant. pretty much this whole thread [at least my part in it] was meant to be taken tongue-in-cheek. I realize that my initial post about you maybe being fine and whatever was presumptive and obnoxious. I didn't really mean for it to be taken seriously. I didn't realize that you and Lynus had a thing, and again, I never really meant to be taken seriously. I guess where I'm coming from is. . . there really isn't any good standard for picking a "Best Poster"--the fun of the thread comes from the nonsensical quality of it all--so why not use the standard of "who's the prettiest girl most of us have never seen or will never see on a bbs filled with almost exclusively guys I've never seen?"? the joke being: what kind of a schmo would use a Best Poster nomination to try to hit on a female poster who could look like Janis Joplin for all he knows? the humor is in the ridiculousness of it all. I apologize if I was unclear. it's all in gest. that having been said, I re-nominate Princess as the best poster. and I duck.

This is all rather humerous. the funnies thing i have read all day is that BobFinn* was ranked as number 6. now if you know the average finn oust in contains 7 letters. YES letters, not words ok its not like what I said is true, but finn* Ive read mentioned as a most improved poster a few times. but when i first joined the BBS it was all about his famous 1 word posts. Finn it looks like they love ya, they really do. Finn is also the only poster to have ever had a forum named after him(as far as I know) but if being a good poster is important i suppose that Jeff is the only person worth mentioning. not only are his posts entertaining, enlightening, educational, they are also different from the common man, worthy of reading. they tend to have real content. I respect the man having never met him. why you may ask.... well even though he may not admit it. HE SAVED THE ROCKETS!!! so if you ever have a question as to who is Da man, its Jeff B. most often however my favorite poster is (insert conservative freak or cuttino bashers name here) who posts something that angers me while im at the bars. and when i get home, i get great joy out of those threads PEACE
To do a tournament: A) Find a list of top 100 or so posters by post count. B) Delete posters who have stopped or seriously decreased activity on board. C) Add a certain number of posters not on the list, whether due to newness, just being a few posts short, or posting regularly but in not large amounts. D) Round it out to an even number (say 128 or so). E) Create matchups - Either place all names in a hat and pick two at a time randomly, or have whoever puts tournament together seed the posters so a matchup like Jeff vs. Clutch doesnt appear in first round. F) Post matchups in a new thread entitled "First (Second, Third, etc) Round - Best Posters tournament." G) Have people vote for a week or so at a time. H) Repeat steps F&G till a winner is crowned. There's the blueprint. Now someone go out and do it.
Yeah, I think a lot of people are getting voted on for the number of posts they have, not the quality of their posts. It's like Manny posted, there are plenty of good posters out there with less than a 1,000 posts. I'm not sure who I would vote for because there are quite a few quality posters on here...oh what they heck...my vote for best poster goes to the GOT COOKIES? poster
