Lol funny how PF was our main problem after last year's lost. We complained about the lack of size. Now, we still lack size advantage. In fact, the new PF lineup is shorter than Juwan Howard. But hey, they are better, they are stronger, they are smarter. Scola is just amazing, his footwork around the basket and that leaning underhand shot is very effective. Landry and Harris, after the dunks I've seen from them, bring in so much swagger and energy. SO MUCH. Landry has already proven himself as a first round worthy pick which we stole. We don't know about brooks and harris yet. Hayes is just a defensive machine. When yao comes back next season, we may not be able to keep them all, but what we can do is trade some of our roster players for other players we need. This is economics guy, buy low, sell high. But I can see quite an effective rotation next year. Yao lineup (big man lineup) and a scola lineup (small man lineup)/
I used to watch him play at Rice and never thought he could make it on an NBA team, even though he was huge for us when we actually had a chance to make the NCAA tournament back in 05. But I'm glad to see that he's given a chance to play... maybe this will raise his stock a bit more, even if he doesn't stay w/ us in the future.
...according to the pregame special on My20...GM Morey told Mark Berman that Mike was just signed to another 10 day contract... ...amorephd...
To sum up Mike Harris, he'll get you 50-55% or more shooting from the field wherever league he's in. Doesnt matter if he gets blocked 3 times in a row or he doesnt dribble, ball finds it way into the hole. Simple scaled down basketball approach
dude is all hustle, another thing we need on this team. hustle is the thing that is helping us maintain this win streak. MIKE HARRIS
I think we had just signed Williams so we could not cut him...or something like that. Maybe they thought Gerald Green could use a little time to reflect on how bad he really wants it.... I think the Rox will sign him in the offseason to a very reasonable contract. DD
Good point. That would make alot of sense. Let him see what he can be a part of. They let him be around the team for a couple of weeks(if that) and let him get re-attached to the city... Now it's on him. His agent better not mess this up. He is already marketable because of the dunk contest and the fact he has roots here already? He would be a low risk/high reward addition to our bench for the future. I remember him stating that he had never been around a shoot around so serious... and how his favorite player is T-Mac. This is a dream situation, as he put it, but let's hope he realizes it. But the question is how much do you guys think he is worth? Based on our team's contracts I would give him around 2.25-3 million, but I'm sure his agent wants 6-7 million...
Amid the win streak snap, this guy's performance is being lost. He has been great in the past 3 games! 14 of 24 shooting and 16 boards in limited minutes! And 2 of the games against the Celtics and Lakers. He plays in the NBA like he has been there all his life. I hope this guy stays in Houston for a long time.
