Unless Harris plans on guarding BDiddy for half the game, you are mistaken. I prefer to get the Hornets

Im not worried at all about the Warriors, in fact I would love for the first round matchup be against them. They seem like the easiest team to beat to me.

We beat the Warriors last game even with Yao in the line up (who was said to always have problems facing the Warriors' small ball)... It's safe to say the tide has started to turn.

We won't have Yao to put up the monster numbers last game, but if we play the Warriors again, our now matured system and chemistry would allow us to run and gun with the Warriors; our discipline in defence and hustle would give us the upperhand.

That said, I would still like to see Nuggets knocking off Warriors...They would be our ideal line-up.

I didn't vote for any teams but is it just me or i Feel like this team can be matched up against any of the listed team and i would feel as confident playing them.

The western conference is so packed that theres no clear distinguishable talent from head to tail.

yao only had problems with warriors' small ball after their blockbuster trade last season. before that, yao dominated them consistently going back as far as his rookie season.

that's an unfair statement though. tracy literally carried his team in every playoff game he's ever won, so he speaks the truth when he says he's capable of putting the team on his shoulders and winning games. now he might not be able to do it 4 games out of 7, but that's asking too much of one man anyway.

the simple fact is that every game orlando ever won was almost solely because of him, and every game against dallas in 2004-2005 was solely because of him. last year was more of a team effort but the team fell short. so fault the guy for being unable to carry his team for an entire series, but don't criticize him for not stepping up in the playoffs and being able to carry his team to victory in any given game.

nice faith in your team to be and stay the bottom-feeders of the western conference playoff race...

okay, is it just me, or is this guy's thoughts all over the place? this article basically demeans the Rockets by begging for the matchup. Just cause you say "this is not to demean the Rockets in any way" and throw in a randomly placed quote from Shane Battier, it doesn't make it not demeaning

Maybe this guy should watch some games instead of spewing the same thoughts as every other writer. I can't speak for T-Macs first 4 playoff series losses, but when he got to Houston, the only reason we made the playoffs and made the series vs Dallas and Utah competitive was because of T-Mac. Versus Dallas, the Mavs were projected to win the series in 5 games. After we won the first two games in that series, the ESPN analysts changed their prediction to Mavs in 6. Had it not been for some horrible calls and bad breaks, we win. Versus the Jazz, yes we had homecourt, but it's not like we were overwhelming favorites. We had won one whole more game than the Jazz in the regular season. I think before the Utah series, there was a stat that pointed out T-Mac was something like the 3rd all-time leading playoff scorer. But it's not like he only scores. His rebounds and assists are decent and he just makes the team better. So to say T-Mac isn't capable IMO is a long stretch.

Yes, LeBron is great. But as the article points out the bad things about T-Mac, you could easily replace LeBron's name in that paragraph with Tracy's.

If there is any matchup that this guy should hope for, it should be Dallas just because of their success vs them last post-season. Anyways, as another poster already mentioned, "Be careful what you wish for"

Oh man I'd love to play the Warriors in the playoffs. If Carl Landry is healthy we will beat them. Scola, Landry, and even Mike Harris will abuse them on the inside since they don't have an inside presence. They usually have guys like Stephen Jackson or Matt Barnes as their PF and Al Harrington as their center. Those guys are not going to stop Landry or Scola. And our guys are also mobile enough to stay with them on defense. So, I wouldn't be scared at all if we face them in the playoffs.

I would still rather play a team like the Hornets or Suns, i think we can still run the Warriors out of town...they are the most inconsistent team in the top 8 and without Yao i dont think they have much a chance anyways...it may go 6 games but We can take them

I concur. As much as I love SKip, when he puts his mind to it, BDiddy is one of the top 2 pgs in the league. He can absolutely manhandle any other pg in the league with his sheer power. He certainly showed he can get the job done in the playoffs with last year against Dirk (and co) and against Tmac in the past.

GS is completely unpredictable. If they catch fire, they can beat anyone in the league. I would rather face someone like Denver or Dallas where you know what you're going to get.

exactly, SA and a healthy lakers team are the only team that we can't really match up b/c those 2 teams have a legit outside-inside combination.

the warriors??? c'mon now, without yao, how can we not match up well with them? adelman must be licking his chops.

We'd take the Warriors in 4. They're brand of basketball works against poorly coached teams who buy into their style of play (see 06-07 Dallas Mavericks).

Im too sure of that. He still had 7 turnovers in that game. Yao might have a good game or two vs fast pace teams but usually he struggles against them.

There isn't a team 1-8 that would be an easy playoff match-up unless the Nuggets make it in.

The Warriors crowd is insane, and they play a similar style as we do (not as team-oriented, but they focus around the perimeter and driving in. No real post presence), so every game may turn into a slug-fest like the NO game a week ago.

I'm afraid that with the cake walk that either the Celtics or Pistons have to go through that the finals could easily goto the East, which isn't fair.

They need to restructure the playoffs. Heck, Utah should be struggling for a 7th seed right now, not a 4th.

Part of the great things about this team is their defense. Skip is a very versatile point guard defender (meaning he can defend the fast and the strong as well as anyone) he might get worked a little but definately not anymore than anyonelse. We also have great help defense that tends to defend the paint.

I think we match up better with this team up front, Scola and Landry (assuming he's healthy) will abuse their comedic attempt to defend the paint using SF's like Jackson and Harrington. Scola and Landry are quick enough to get out on them but also strong enough to punish them inside. I think that they will hurt them the same way the Odom/Kwame and Boozer/Millsap combos work on them.

Gimmicky teams are always easy to beat if you just play hard and smart. Beating the serious teams will take more talent.

Meh the Warriors are no harder than the rest of the West. And unlike the Suns, Spurs, Jazz, Lakers, and maybe the Hornets, they have no low-post player to abuse us with.

Dallas and Golden State are teams the Rockets should hope to face if they is a realistic chance of winning a playoff series.

There is no easy match up this year no matter where we land? If the author thinks we don't want to meet GSW, he should check out our records again Mavs or Suns. Or does he think we prefer to face the Spurs?

Even the Jazz(Boozer, Deron) and Hornets (CP, West) give me headache.

No team in WC is gonna have easy time this playoff. We need to worry about clinching a playoff spot first and then we may at the end consider which poison to pick. I think that is plan for every team.
