This is it, fellow Rocket fans. From tomorrow on out, the real test of this team begins. Can we win without Yao? Is T-Mac good enough? Do we have enough talent? Can T-Mac get out of the first round? Can we go farther? Can we even finish top 4 after this difficult stretch? These and many more are questions being asked of the Rockets, and questions the Rockets will want to answer. Huge game tomorrow vs. LA. Ultra-hyped battle for supremacy atop the Western Conference. A very motivated team in LA trying to snap the Rockets historic win streak. Superstar battle in Tracy McGrady vs. Kobe Bryant. Statement game. Then after that, a brutal schedule for 5 more games. BUT NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS TOMORROW... Be proud of your Houston Rockets! Can you believe this win streak went from simply beating the T-Mac/Yao-era win streak (I think it was 5/6/7 games?) to beating the Dream-era win streak (15) to beating every team ever in NBA history's win streak, save one? It's an amazing accomplishment and I am glad our Houston Rockets have given us something to be proud of. I hope you have all enjoyed every moment, and I hope that there are many more "moments" to come.
The bad thing is LA has already got an excuse if they lose. They will be without Bynum and Gasol. They aren't out for the rest of the season like Yao. If Roxs lose, then the media will probably will thrash them. If they win, the media will say its because the Lakers werent at full strenght. Its a lose-lose situation!
It is going to be a big test for Rafer. If he is OK in these tough games, we are going to win big in playoffs. So far, Rafer played like crap in last two games.
Its a win-lose situation actually.. see if we win, we get the #1 spot in the West. The media can't take that away, a win is a win. Who cares what BSPN or any other marginally important person from the media has to say. If we win, we win, period.
Lose lose? If the Rockets win who gives a flying f*** about what the media says. We will be on top of the Western Conference and our streak will continue. Doesn't sound very much like a losing situation to me.
plus we will have the tiebreaker. almost like winning 2 games against LA at least. win situation for me.
Rafer and Scola. My biggest concern for the playoffs is both guys will became master bricklayers. If that happens, our offense will bog down and it will be very hard to win games. Good OP. No matter what happens from now on, this has been a special season because of the win streak and team chemistry.
The point isn't to win the contest of who thinks they are the best. The point is to win each individual game. To get to the playoffs, and to try not to get eliminated. Its fun to watch the games. We have an exciting inspirational team. Its listening to all the garbage written by people who don't watch the games about who is the best, thats painful. (Listening to the other team give excuses as to why they lost isn't that bad.) Oh, I can't wait to hear JVG announce the game on Sunday. Thats going to be priceless. This next week or so is going to be exciting. I know I'll be glued to the screen for each game.
the real test is the boston game. all the rocket-hating critics are just gonna use gasol's absence as an excuse of saying how rockets still arent a contender
Who gives a damn what the media thinks? Do we need the media for us to believe, or can we believe outside of media's perspective? And how is this a lose-lose situation? We are winning the game a nd becoming the #1 TEAM in the west....
I already explained it. The op said it was the real test. Its not the real test since the Lakers are no where near full strength. A real test is against strong opponents not ones missing key players. Oh I agree every win is important but this isnt really a real test.
You mean who do I think will end the Rockets winning streak? I have no idea so I went to an online fortune telling place and got this.
