...open maximized? It does it on the first one, but if I open more than one at a time it opens all the others about 5 X 5 rather than full height and width. I hate having to hit the maximize button.
I've often pondered this question myself. At one point all my new windows were opening up reeeeeeaaaaaaallllllll small. Then after awhile they got bigger. Beats the hell outta me though...maybe some obscure registry setting perhaps....
Try opening a new window (Cntrl + N), then maximize it out. Then close all of your IE windows and the rest of the windows that are opened after the first one should be either maxmized or close to it.
Right-on Dave. Open IE (or any app for that matter), maximize its window, then close it. Open it again, and it returns to its previous window state.
so our solution to not hitting the maximize button is to hit the maximize button, close the window, and then reopen the window.
That fixed part of it. When I right click on a link and then click "Open in New Window," it still opens to about 5 X 5. Any other suggestions? If not, thanks for the previous one guys. It's better than it was.
You might need to close all other browser windows when trying to reset the default behavior for new instances of a browser window. Mango
Here's a way to get it to work every time: Go to your shortcut to IE or whatever aplication you want, then right click and select properties, towards the bottom of the box there will be an option called 'Run' It is probably on Normal Window change that to Maximize and hit OK then when ever you open that shortcut it will be Maximized.
I tried everything in this thread...and it worked. The only problem is, I don't know which one of them did it. Thanks, whichever one of you figured it out. By the way, if someone happens to use the scientific method and reproduces the results with their browser, let us know which of these things it was that did it.
