word. hell, i have serious doubts about our ability to win in the playoffs... not having yao will show up big time. but all these backhanded, prefaced compliments are getting old.

there isn't a single team in the nba that you could say is a favorite... not one. every team can win a 7-game series as easily as it could lose it. why the rockets aren't garnering more respect is beyond me.

I didn't see any of that as negative, really. The next 5 games will tell a major story regarding the Rockets metal, and while we are the 2 seed now (by way of tiebreaker with LA), if we drop a few of the next 5, we could drop like a stone in the seedings.

That being said, I think it's their job as commentators to give their opinions. Everyone has one. Theirs just happen to be wrong. ;)

It IS going to be difficult for this team to make a deep run in the playoffs. In a 5 or 7 game series, teams will figure out how to exploit the hole in the paint left by Yao. So Adelman is going to have to bring his "A" coaching game this postseason to adapt.

    Time will tell.

Tmac ain't no Michael Jordan. Michael would want to eat your children. Tmac is prolly a cooler dude to hang out with, but on the basketball court Michael was savage

Guys that think we have no inside game have no idea how good Scola is and have forgotten that McGrady is really about 6'10".

Understandable. Same thing can be said about Boston. They look great on paper and they are in the EAST. If a lowest winning team that makes the PO beat the best winning percentage team in the PO...

Who cares about Kenny Smiths' opinion? He was a sucker on every NBA-team he was on and the only reason he has a job now is that Dream led the Rockets to 2 championships. Okey, he probably knows more basketball than the whole forum together but he is hating on us now, I bet he's not even watching the Rockets games.

Well this time, I really don't see anything wrong with what Kenny said. I usually don't agree with him, but this time he said nothing wrong.

With Yao we're a contender (atleast all the media is seeing that now), and without Yao we're underdogs in every series. We go from the team to beat to the underdogs. That's not to say this current Rockets team can't do something special in the playoffs (I really really hope we can win at least one series), but a serious NBA championship run may have to wait.

Regardless I'll be behind this team all the way! Go Rockets!!

Not to be negative, but do you guys find it weird that many ex-rockets seem to have some sort of bitterness/bias towards the rockets. (Jon Berry, Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley) I'm just curious why is that?
