I posted this in the Check out Rockets.com front page thread, got no responses and thought it should have its own thread: for everybody that went to the game... wasn't the "Amazing" montage video during the timeout during the beginning of the 4th qtr. beautiful? OMG, I almost shed a tear.... the ones I remembered "Where hustle happens" (shows a pic of Battier) "Where the best center in the league happens" (pic of Yao) "Where the future happens" (the infamous poster pic of Scola/Landry/Brooks) "Where the MVP candidate happens" (pic of Tmac) "Where (Deke's finger) happens" (pic of Deke) EDIT: [thanks LAYGO] "Where unselfish happens" (Pic of Rafe dishing) then the infamous "Where 20 wins happens" (pic of Toyota Center) there is a few more, forgot the rest I really hope it hits Youtube soon the crowd was PUMPED up for it, was shown during a timeout, if u noticed a timeout where the crowd was the loudest ever, it was after that video... btw, nice to meet you briefly LAYGO, good times man...
Saw it. Loved it. Got emotional also. Everybody was on their feet. You could feel the whole place building to a crescendo as it came to the end. I think there was a Rafer spot, can't remember what his phrase was, something about passing... I'm thinking we'll see it again in the Lakers game with 21 instead.
Did you smell what was in the bottle at all? Cool meeting you too sir!~ Don't forget: Where unselfish happens (Pic of Rafe dishing)
that one really started the crowd going! the MVP one got mad luv too ... most fans get our star duo, that made me happy.
BTW, during that video & when the Rox took the lead is the LOUDEST I've ever heard TC! IT WAS A BLAST!
If you compare the Miami Heat team of 2006 that won the Championship to the Houston Rockets of this year you clearly see that the Houston Rockets of 2007-2008 has a legit shot at winning the championship. Shaq was not the same Shaq in Miami that he was in L.A. and I believe Mutombo's impact and presence especially defensively can match what Shaq brought to Miami.Mutombo is not better offensively nor does he draw double teams on offense but he does take away shots on the other end of the floor casuing more chances for the offense to be better while limiting what the opposing team can do offensively. This is important in the playoffs. Mutombo was important to Iverson and 76ers getting to finals. They had Haslem, Alonzo and Walker and we have Scola, Landry and Chuck Hayes/Mike Harris. They have Wade and we have McGrady. Heat was as strong as Wade "their leader" was and the same will go for Houston with McGrady. They had Jason Williams and Gary Payton and we have Rafer Alston, Bobby Jackson/AB. We have a great defender in Shane Battier, good shooters in Steve Novak and Luther Head. I don't know how Miami Heat's championship team matches that I remember them having Kapono (Good shooter) and James Posey (Good shooter and above average defender). Rockets have better defense as a whole than Miami. Both offense of both teams you could argue. Both teams were underestimated. And Jamal Mashburn is a loser and losers don't know anything about winners or winning or trying to win. Jamal Mashburn underestimates teamwork, spirit and what it truly takes to be champions. Since he never was all he can do is go with his own carnal thoughts of underestimating what Houston truly has to only ignorantly say that they don't have enough. He said New Orleans was going to stop the streak just as Barkley said Dallas would. This two have something in common... they are both losers. Losers never give winners a chance or even know winners when they see them.
best game ive been to all year and i loveeeed that montage man it was amazing...the crowd was so electric and so much excitement! hopefully it carries on the rest of the year! GO ROCKETS
I see them more as the 2004 Detroit Pistons- play the right way, defense, teamwork, hustle, chemistry, all-star surrounded by role players, shot blockers, underdogs, etc...
i always thought so also, I believe Tmac acknowledged this also a few weeks back in an interview. The teamwork the Pistons did in the finals vs. the Lakers, was unbelievable.
You know I wantedto make that comparison because they do look more like that team but only by team. If you get to the individual player comparisons it's different but as a team they compare more to that team than any. Good point.
i was at the game 2nite too...man that **** was truly amazing. some1 needs to post it ASAP!!! very glad i saw it 2nite
I knew this was going to happen when I moved. But I did get my boss to sign a "heypartner can work out of Houston again for a title run" clause. I'll be there for 1st round for sure. this is no joke! Just have to figure out what to do with my cat.
