Granted its on the Raptors, but that is still amazing.......... Hopefully Toronto can keep it close.....
whatever. my hometown craptors want the ball to hit their head for rebounds. Sam Mitchell is an idiot - Coach of Year my ass.
I know it's part of Colangelo's strategy to go euro since Americans tend to bolt from Canada at their first chance. But what they need to start doing is grabbing Argentinians! I'm sure they could get a hold of Walter Hermann and maybe even Andres Nocioni for the right package. Argentinians play harder than any foreign players I can think of. Tough as nails, all of em'! See Manu, Scola, Oberto, Nocioni, Hermann, etc etc. Oh, and if they want to start by prying Luis Scola from the Rockets, I will accept Chris Bosh in an even swap.
I guarantee you more people would want to play in Toronto rather than San Antonio, Orlando (small markets) if the franchise was solid. When Vince Carter was there, they had plenty of good players. THey had Oakley, Keon Clark, Antonio Davis, Doug Christie. Those are veteran American players.
Eh, I remember in 1989 when Westphal coached the Nuggets scored 101 pts against the Suns in the first half. The game ended like 140 130
I don't think any of those players came via free agent signing. The best free agent (most high profile) the Raptors have gotten in team history would probably have been Mark Jackson who had just played in the Finals with Indiana. Other than that, there is nothing pleasing about Canada. Sure, crime rate is lower, but it's belowing freezing pretty much for the duration of the NBA season, the taxes are very high and goes towards welfare, health care that these athletes won't benefit from. The Euro route was the best one that Colangelo could have taken. To a European player like Garbajosa, Canada and the US are the same thing.
