I haven't been to a Rockets Playoff game at the Toyota center yet (or any game for that matter) and wanted to come down for a game this year.

Is anyone else in the same boat? Have you done it before - is it hard to get good seats and find cheap flights / hotels in Houston between the time the game is announced and the actual game?

One day, when I'm old enough and rich enough, I'll buy a first class ticket to Houston when the Rockets are having a home game stretch, buy at least 3 courtside seats for those games and just watch the Rockets upfront and close for the first time in my life.

Dave2000 organized an awesome CF.net group section for game 1 last year. The_YoYo was on hand. Can't remember the exact price but it was reasonable. We all met at Live ahead of time. It was a little high up, but I've never had more fun at a game, ever.

I wanted to use my flier miles to catch a trip to Houston and catch a game last year. So I called the Rockets representatives and one of the guys I talked to said since I was coming all the way from L.A. he would for sure hook me up with some FREE tickets near the Rowdies section as long as I come dressed in Rocket Red! He told me to call him when ever I wanted to catch a game and had my plans fixed. Unfortunately, I was unable to make it because of school. I am going to try and do soon though. You should call the Rockets organization and they can tell you what they can do. To me, they were very friendly, nice and helpful!

    Wow that will be fun.

I would worry about tickets first. Then I will live in Fort Worth if I have to for a 20$/night motel, take bus to the TC. :D

    But that's just me.

i flew out last year for the first two playoff games and this year for the home opener. i flew continental from los angeles to George bush and it was roughly 220 round trip after all fees/taxes.

i sat in Dave's group seats there were inexpensive tickets and we sat pretty high up but the experience i had up there was indescribable. i sat with the rowdies for game 2 of the playoffs that was amazing as well.

my recommendation is that see if there is a group thing from CF if not then try to get tickets near the rowdies or with the rowdies it will be well worth it.

generally i find continental to be the cheapest since their hub is george bush airport but its a bit further away from downtown houston fyi.

oh and as for accomodations I've been fortunate enough to have cf.netters offer me a room at their place or a floor

I am going to fly in for the playoffs. I've been watching flights since August (because I had planned to come down during New Years)

But the best prices I have found were around 250 flying from Dayton into IAH.

I think that was either American or AirTran. Southwest has decent prices too.

I tried that once. I flew from Montreal, Canada to Houston in 2005 for the 3rd game of Houston-Dallas series. I sit on 2nd row behind the basket. Too bad Rockets lost that night. That was my first professional game experience. It cost me quite a bit though. :)

Yeah, first round seats are only 5% more then regular season - I was planning on getting in the club section and being super loud and drunk - but not too obnoxious!

It has to be a saturday/sunday/friday night for me.

I'll let folks know what I figure out - thanks for the advice and if anyone hears any good info or anything let me know please!

I remember- it was a blast!

YoYo was so hyped that he started stage diving and took out at least five rows. ;)

I'm more than willing to do it. Someone just needs to buy my plane ticket and game ticket and I'm there. I would prefer a ticket next to a good looking single female Rockets fan in her 20's. Thanks.
