    My advice:

    Hill Country BBQ:

    26th St b/w Broadway & 6th Ave.

Rockets HQ for the playoffs and before.

It's the only Texas BBQ place here. They have Tito's Vodka, Lone Star Beer, fly Kreuz sausage up,and Blue Bell ice cream.

It's full of homesick Texans every weekend.

Speaking of Texans, it's the only bar in the city that shows the Texans every Sunday. They'll also be showing every Rockets game + the NCAA tournie so def visit.

I'll also start a thread about it before the playoffs so we can gather our NY forces for the games.

i've been meaning to try the place but have heard a few negative things about it. i hate being disappointed by food places claiming to be "texan." they never are in my experience. anywho, do post about a get together for a rockets playoff game. that would be a pretty damn good excuse to give it a shot.

Thats not true. The manager of the Brother Jimmys on 80th and Amsterdam always plays the Texans...he's from Austin. (No, he hates the Titans)

Welcome to the greatest city in the universe. Dont become a Knicks fan.

I don't think New Yorkers are Knicks fans anymore. Is anyone a Knicks fan anymore?

Hell all my coworkers are SOX fans. You'd think I live in Boston. Typical Yalies and Harvard alum.

Not sure yet, will be living with my sister for the first few weeks in the city. Will be craigslist'ing and checking out places all over until I find the right place in the right price range. A couple of people have suggested the upper east side. Any advice?

Might as well continue on in this thread instead of starting a new thread titled: "Moving from Houston to NYC for a new job, where should I live??"

As for the moving part, I am planning on moving my furniture into my parents home. I will take measurements of everything and once I find a place I will decide what to bring up, thanks for all of the advice guys
