I start to think the Rox medical team is responsible to some extent. They seem to be a bit too aggressive IMHO.
Watch out cause I heard last night in practice he accidently knocked his noggin against the rim. He's got a baseball sized lump and concussion. Out for the season!
Weird... For years, we complained the media never paid attention to us. How, we get a super hyped game...especially if there is 21 in a row and that is like bad now? Landry needs to play if he is at least 80 percent. The next 3 games will determine if this team is for real or not.
the rockets have a very poor record at atlanta. rockets winning there proved they were better than usual.
You guys can rag on durvasa all you want for being nervous that this Landry gravy-train could be pulling into station...but I perfectly understand where he is coming from. We as Rockets fans have been waiting what seems like forever for a good, young PF that we can look forward to see every night. The last really good PF I can think of that we had was Barkley. We had him at the end of his career, so it was obviously not a long term solution. We all hoped Griffin would be the guy for years to come. I think we all know the ending to that story (except maybe Clyde). Mo Taylor was a decent player at that position, but his shortcomings were too much to overlook...plus the weed thing. Stromile Swift would have been great but his career was cut short, like so many other great ones before him, by conjunctivitis. Juwan Howard, Lonny Baxter, Kenny Thomas, Othella Harrington, ANTOINE CARR...this is the caliber of player we have had to watch at PF for over a decade now. Getting a guy like Landry, in the 2nd round no less, felt like nothing short of a miracle. It's the main reason why everyone has freaked out so much about the potential of losing him to another team when he becomes a restricted free agent. We all keep waiting for the other shoe to drop, to wake up from the dream -- and this injury just has the feel of another disappointment in a long line of power forward disappointments. I'm sure we are all just paranoid and he comes back as good as ever. But many of us that have been here for the long haul can't help but feel at least a little twinge of dread that there is something more going on here than we know.
So he won't play tonight. That's bad news cause with Okafor inside we can have some troubles especially on the boards.
Its going to be tough if landry is not there for the Lakers game we really need this guy back. I think they can take the bobcats without him but we need him healthy down the stretch
Haha, I'm not mad man. I was just wondering which game you were talking about when you said he didn't look explosive. I think we both said the same thign just in different ways. No hard feelings. Good part is that Morey said Landry should hopefully be back on Sunday!
The same way that we brought Bobby Jackson to play behind Rafer to alleviate Rafer's minutes and in case Rafer stinks it up, we need Landry even more to rest Scola. Landry also brings a dimension that Scola doesn't provide. He's a great finisher and a more consistent midrange shooter.
Emeka Okafor splits against us last year: 2 games: 11.5ppg 9.0rb 52.6% fg this year: 1 game: 12.0ppg 11.0rb 44.4% fg FYI *shrugs shoulders
I don't buy that at all. I like Landry's confidence in his J, but from any farther than about 12 feet, I'd prefer Scola taking the open jumper. In fact, I bet 82games would probably show a higher jumpshot shooting percentage for Scola than Landry... but I'm too lazy to check.
Don't want to read much into it but this reminds me of the Ahman Green injury, "he'll be back in a few weeks"..."maybe another week or 2"..."out for the rest of the season". Some knee injuries just take long, long time to heal...
