I think Walker could be our 3rd down back.

Me, too. I don't think Green is going to be a Texan past June 1. Though, it might depend on what they do in the draft. If they get someone relatively high (first 4 rounds) then Green is as good as gone. If not, he might have a chance to stick. I still wouldn't be surprised if they re-sign Dayne

    Just announced. It's a done deal ...

    http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/5617478.html

I like the signing ... based on the contract it could be a low risk signing. Sure he is injury prone but I think he is a better fit than Dayne was. They can draft a RB in the 3rd or later round of the draft.

Now I'd like to see the Texans get a good pass rushing DE opposite of Williams, Andre Dyson at CB, a center, and safety before the draft. Any news on the offer made to Chris Crocker?

Texans have already come out and said they won't be re-signing Dayne. I think the Texans will draft a RB somewhere in the draft, however with the Brown signing, I don't think it will come before Round 4.

when healthy, he's an above average back. If we aren't going to resign Dayne and if we end up keeping Ahman Green, then we still need to pick up a RB in the draft. Hopefully somebody in Round 3.

Am I missing somebody or is this our RB depth chart?

    Green- coming off injurry
    Brown -coming off injury
Walker-off practice because of injuries to other RB's
    Taylor-coming off injury

Solid back, albeit injury prone, and to a certain extent, fumble prone. This guy should give Houston some depth, but you shouldn't be counting on him to be your #1 back. With potential franchise guys like Mendenhall and Stewart available, Houston needs to be thinking RB in the 1st.

The Texans sure rode Dayne hard last year, for a back that they do not want to keep.

As a Ravens fan, I think the Texans may want to look at Mike Anderson, who was just released by the Ravens. He really excelled in the zone blocking scheme while in Denver.

Also, Musa Smith, who was also cut by the Ravens, is a great talent who never could get carries behind Jamal Lewis and McGahee. He has good size and speed, and really showed flashes when given the oppurtunity.

This is a good pickup...sign a guy in his prime....not an old beaten up worn down has been.
