It amazes so many people here actually care what Chucky Cupcake says and open a new thread for each little brain fart he has to say on TNT. Like bunch of eager kids for praise from a drunk Dad.

My 10 year old niece would say "What--E--ver.

He thought Orlando was going to the finals early this season, now he said that they dont have what it takes to get there. I dont take whatever he says seriously anymore, that tub of lard changes his mind every week.

as long as you don't diss the legends like maxwell or say some crap about the 90s bulls, you're good in my book.

All I can say about Barkeley is this:

Even a blind man knows when he's stepped off the edge of a cliff.

Chuck keeps saying only the top 3 teams in the west, Lakers, Spurs & Jazz, have a chance at the championship. and follows that with. "i don't think any team in the west is good enough to win 3 series w/o hca." ... someone should explain Utah's situation to him.

i didn't know there was something wrong with saying something about the 90s bulls. The other day at work i was discussing with someone how they aren't as good as people thought they were, in terms of other eras.

They played at a particularly week era for SG's and it made it really easy for Jordan to dominate. They could also hand check, determined guys like Harper, Pippen, and Jordan to lock down opposing back courts. There was also no illegal defense to give teams a chance at stopping Jordan by zoning up.

It really should put Kobe's 81 point onslaught in perspective but most people will close their ears to anything that diminishes Jordan's legacy.

Why would a lack of offensive talent at SG make it easier for Jordan to dominate? Offensive plays against the other team's defense, not offense. And you say the hand check helped the Bulls defend, but gloss over how it would have helped other teams defend Jordan.

the hand checking did help other teams but it was a bad time for SG's both defensively and offensively. Jordan was very quick for his time and so was Pippen, they were also very determined and had good timing.

The people that guarded him weren't that good and guys weren't as quick then, with his superior ball handling he could easily get around him. That is the main thing that i think that he was completely dominant at, him handles from the wing were and are still unmatched.

I would say that Kobe Bryant is as good or better at every other aspect of the game.

I keep saying it but he keeps reconfirming it. He is losing "it."

The guy used to be somewhat insightful even if some of his remarks were made to create controversy. I almost always respected his opinion even if I didn't agree because it seemed like he was drawing on some of his knowledge/experience as a player. He was also funny and pretty damn sharp in his own Barkley manner.

Now, he is basically a fat dude who doesn't seem to even keep up with the game. He can't give you an explanation with any substance for any of his opinions. He isn't funny anymore and he even seems star struck by some of the current stars and is scared to offend them. The guy who used to refuse to ever back down from anyone now has problems looking some of the players that he used to criticize in the eye when they call him out.

my point is that overall the nba players are better now guys watch the best of the previous era and add on to their game and become bigger/faster/stronger.

I think if you compare many of the greats of old in skill/strength/speed they don't necessarily match up to some of the current stars. Its just natural evolution.

I do think that if MJ were born in the current era, he would dominate the competition because, with his strong will and determination, he would have become a better all around shooter and become stronger.

My point is a little more obvious if you go further back in history. Many people suggest Kareem, the dream, and Bill Russel are amongst the best centers in the nba. Wilt Chamberlain's stats dwarf all of them, he thoroughly dominated the competition in every way, but I would argue he isn't better than any one of those other centers. He was in a week era of centers similar to the accolades that shaq gets when he dominated in a week decade for centers.

uh sure dude. that's why 41 year old Deke can block these youngers weak crap.

Yeah Wilt was playing when they had weak centers like BILL RUSSELL.

please stop hating the players of the past.
