From my understanding.... Everyone in the franchise gets a ring. My office secretary from middle school worked for the Houston Rockets front office during the championship years and she received a ring given to her by the organization. Unfortunately, she passed away in a car accident several years ago.
Youch! You're actually upset about this.... If this team actually wins the Championship (and that is still a longshot - but I'm hopeful) then hell yeah, I'd give rings to the players wives, girlfriends, shoe shiners, and anyone that had anything that had anything to do with the Championship - yes, that includes Yao, Bonzie & SF3.
Mad Max got a ring for his contribution to the 2nd championship. Heck, Bill, Calvin, Gene and Jim all got rings, heck those guys have 2 more rings than chuck round mound of rebound!
Exactly, and there have been plenty in other sports that deserved it even less. Maxwell was sent away, but he contributed mightily. He just thought he was better than he was. Chris Jent got a Championship ring for the love of... Should we win, Yao would absolutely deserve a ring. But, considering his honor, I'm not sure he'd accept. Yao wants to earn a ring.
Do any of you seriously think there will be any way in hell that they don't give Yao Ming a ring if we win? Of course he will get a ring!
I think all 15 guys heading into the playoffs get a ring, the coaching staff, team doctors, and front office get a ring. Some teams get Championship Belts.
