born and raised in houston...fan since i can remember...which is their early eighties run...i'm 39

i was a huge fan of phi slamma jamma (remember when UH was relevant nationally? those were the days)

but i will never forget that the rockets brought the first true major sports championship to houston...after all the heartbreak we went through as a houston sports fans

i think that only a native can ever relate to that feeling, but i am glad everyone is here to enjoy this current ride...

I've been a rockets fan since 1992. The reason I became a fan is because I was going to Sam Houston State in Hunstville, and I would go visit my Uncle in Houston on the weekends. Well, he was a bartender at Stouffers Hotel which is now Rennaissance Hotel. This Hotel is next to the Summit. I had to wait for him to get out of work so he would give some money to walk over to the Summit and buy tickets so I can watch the games. Usually upper level tickets but it didn't matter. Got to see many games. Also, most of the opposing teams would stay at Stouffers hotel and I would see them walking around. It was pretty cool.

i'm from nyc originally, but my mother graduated from the hilton college and was a big coogs and dream fan, so she started following the rockets in '84 and so did i in about '88.

Ive been a Rox fan since 1989. I even worked in the ticket booth at the Summit in high school. I remember hanging out watching the Rockets practice before starting to work. That was a great experience. :D

One time, the trainers were working out a player after practice. The following day 740 had announced that they had signed Charles Jones. It was pretty cool being able to witness it before everyone knew

Now I live in Northern California, in between Warrior and King country. My fanhood is as strong as ever. :D

i was born in albuquerque, nm.........lived there until the end of 8th grade (summer 1991). i came here and started watching the rockets immediately. i had to listen to the home games as we were too poor for basic cable (and houston sports net, or whatever the local cable channel was called that broadcast the home games back then). id sit in my room, and listen to gene peterson and go through all of my nba trading cards. i got here just in time for a few heartbreakers to seattle in the playoffs, then got to enjoy the glory years. still here. still a fan. still love the rockets.

Born and raised in Houston. Began watching the Rockets in 1978. Calvin Murphy was my idol. I carried his basketball card around in my back pocket with me everywhere.

I was born in Houston in 1975 and have been a fan of Houston sports teams since I could stand. With basketball being my favorite sport and the Rockets being the only H-town team to win it all, they are far and away my favorite. The first game I ever went to was in the early 80s when Moses and Calvin Murphy were on the team against the Spurs. As I was only 5 or 6 years old I don't remember much of the specifics of the game other than the excitement I felt. I now live in Dallas, but still follow the team religiously by NBA ticket. I live only 2 miles from American Airlines Arena where the Mavs play, but the only time I have set foot in that place is when the Rockets are in town!

    26. Born in NYC. Queens to be exact. Colombian-Puertorican. Currently residing in Alief.

Since my dad was a semi-professional "futbol" coach in NYC during the late 70's and early 80's, That's all I knew.

We moved here in late 86'. I was into football at that time because of my older brother's addiction to the NY Giants. I got into basketball around 91' because of MJ. I began to watch the Rockets(not religiously like now.) around the "Seattle era".

The real reason I'm a fan is because of Carl Herrera. He would come into my family's restaurant like twice a week. You gotta understand, dude would need to lower his head to walk in. I was so star struck, it was crazy.

Well once, I took him his bill and he was like, "Your mom tells me you like my team?" I'm like, "Yes sir..." He laughed and was like, "I ain't that old yet my little friend for you to call me sir!" He was like, "I just gave your mom some tickets..."

Boxscore of my 1st Rockets game.

    End of story.

Born in Houston (still live here), been a Rockets fan since I knew what was actually going on, so 1987-88 or so. Have remained diehard ever since, and was lucky enough to have playoff tickets and see every home game in 1994.

Since 1995. When I was 5. I don't clearly remember that second championship, but if you doubt me I can tell you I loved Sam Mack's 3 point shooting when he jumped and bent his legs all the way back to his back. (I think that's what he did)

I live in LA, 2 of my brothers are diehard Lakers fans - I HATE THE LAKERS. I can't stand LA. I wish I lived in Houston one day, just to be around Rocket people. I have never been to a Rocket game yet...but when the day comes you can bet I will be the craziest person alive. Because 17 years of being around Laker fans..........

    Since 2005,only for three years.
But I think this period of time happens to be transition of Rocket.
Steve left Houston in that year, T-MAC became a new leader of Rocket.
Howard,Sura,I met them this second, and they left Houston next second.

I comes from China, now I am still in China.

My English is not very good, there may be some grammatical error ,please forgive me. :)
