Clinton was lucky that Perot came out to spoil. Similarly, Obama was also lucky when Carol Moseley decided to run for President instead of US Senate. But then it is always better lucky than good.
Doesn't matter that she quit. She's already said she would continue raising money for Hillary. What I love was her little veiled threat "Don't antagonize people like me." WTF? does that mean!?!?
I guess Ferraro was telling the truth. People just deny it because of those political correctness crxp. Yes, Hillary definitely draws more votes from females and white because she is a white female, but not to the scale like in Mississipi, 92% black votes for Obama!! There are numerous reports showing how those Clinton voting black "minority" feel a lot of peer pressure for their choice. One woman won't tell look at another woman not voting Hilliary like she's out of norm. Like it or not, when I saw people like Oprah started to get involved, I know it's going to be a mess. People started to vote for an image. And for those people who try to make Obama like a saint: he is WINNING. When you're in his position, you'll act like a gentleman. The reality is all politicians are dirt bags. I don't really care much about their personal behaviours. I don't care if Bush is really a chimp if he can get this country properly functioning, but he can't. So far I don't feel comfortable a fluent talker who keeps saying "change, change, change" can really do something.
That's correct and essentially what I've said. Obviously it's much more popular to feign outrage at the mere thought of it being true, but if you think critically and face facts, it's true. The easy way out can often hide reality...
Obama wasn't my first choice for nomination but I am voting for him just because he is black. I figure i will cancel out that one voter who won't vote for him because he's black lol
This is just too much! People are now actually trying to say that being black is an asset. Tell me Jorge, is that why you and your racist twin were calling him Balack Obama for the past year? LOL!!!
I think the Iowa vote needs to come under some scrutiny. The caucus system has proven itself to be corrupt and not reflective of the will of the people within a given state (see Texas' results).
It was an asset in Mississippi and places like Washington and Wisconsin -- for two very different reasons. One is the racial pride aspect (MS). One is the white guilt / hipness / charitable feelings issues...
I think his biggest asset is his good looks. His wife seems like a b!tch. I am sure he will run into affairs once he becomes the President just like JFK and Clinton. I am ok with that though. It is better to watch soap opera like this than watching real people die.
I guess places like Idaho and Utah have both enormous african american populations *and* hip white populations. That's why Obama crushed Hillary in those states. I've never seen more hip and guilt-ridden people than those hipsters in Idaho.
... because the message should be "we want to keep focusing on the richest corner." I fail to see the problem in a politician trying to reach and benefit as many people as possible, but I could be crazy (or African American, or guilt-ridden, or dumb as a rock, or a troop hater, or ...).
Maybe dirt bag is too strong, but seriously, every politician lies, sling mud, etc, just to different extent. My sister is working in government as a mid-level administrative person. She said there is so much bureacracy going and so many aggressive, ambitious people running around it's basically impossible to achieve anything significant without making all those compromises, sacrificing your teammates and occasionally making under-table agreements. If you want "change", you can't play like Yao. Hillary et al at first tried to take advantage her experience, that's why she kept emphasizing on the importance of having well-thought plans. As time went on they realized this was simply a wrong strategy because the voting is all about image. And right now the image of a black, charismatic president is more appealing than an old white lady. Well, this is politic, so she has to attack Obama's image, and to me there's no right or wrong. This is all by necessity. I bet if Hillary gets 95% votes from women one of the Obama's co-workers will "accidentally" slip out something like "it's all about gender"...
first of all, why didn't blacks vote for sharpton. and don't come back back with trader_jorge's excuse that obama sounds white. it doesn't hold water when the old argument was that obama wasn't black enough. the excuse changes with the season. edit
