The Lakers did not shoot 63% from the floor over the last 17 games. That must have been some other stat they were referencing.

LOL.....I admire the fakers players.....about as much as I admire the idiot who tries to trip up a freight train by sticking his leg out :D

Well......everyone wants to break it, of course, but I probably wouldn't be concerned about the Rockets at this point, when I have other games to worry about.

Agree, I dun want the Rockets focus too much on Lakers right now and lose to some team like the Hawks and Bobcats~ even if we do beat the Lakers but lost to Hawks or Bobcats it will be soooooooo ><~~~

The following should have it's own thread, but I'm afraid it wouldn't be productive:

Things to hate about the Lakers:
    1. Kobe Bryant
    2. Phil Jackson
    3. Their ridiculous court lighting
    4. Their colors
    5. Their city
    6. Their state
    7. Their announcers
    8. Fisher using his sick daughter to sneak back on the team
    9. Bynam being dubbed as the second coming of Shaq after two weeks of good play by "the network"
    10. Greg Anthony's man crush on Kobe
    11. Stephen A's man crush on Kobe
    12. ESPN's man crush on Kobe
    13. ABC's man crush on Kobe
    14. Bill Walton's man crush on Kobe
    15. Luke Walton's slow evolution into the white Rick Fox
    16. The highway robbery that was the Pao Gasol trade
    17. Pao Gasol's soccer flopping
    18. Ronny Turiaf
    19. Jack Nicholson
    20. That guy with the stupid hat and sun glasses that sits next to Jack
    21. Officiating and league conspiracies that make all the calls go their way
    22. Every lucky ass last second shot in the playoffs that Horry, Fisher, or George ever made
    23. I could go on for so long...

Nothing would be sweeter than walking in on a 21 game streak and beating the piss out of them Sunday and TAKING the western conference lead (even if it's only for a game as Boston will be a tough challenge).

The Lakers are an absolute joke. They have no chance in the playoffs; they don't play D and they're relying on insane shooting nights to win. When Utah or Houston or San Antonio turn up the heat on these guys in the postseason, mark my words, they will fall apart.

PS- Save the NBA, LeBron James for MVP

Take care of business and don't look ahead. Destroy the Hawks and the Bobcats, if we can (don't wanna jinx The Streak!), and then sharpen the knives for the Fakers, who well and truly suck.

We're starting to become the NBA's Patriots-except we get relatively no media attention

(and ironically enough, we're on a 19 game win streak)

So we accomplished something the "Perfect" Patriots could not, so thats kinda cool
    We're 19-0.....for the last 19 games

It all comes down to defense.

Rockets aer much better than the Lakers on defense.

The Rockets should win this game. :)

This upcoming game between the Rockets and Lakers has the tiebreaker at stake between the teams since they are coming in having split the two games they played. After Sunday, the 16th, the two teams don't meet again for the rest of this regular season. Therefore, the winner of that game will own the tiebreaker based on taking the season series 2-1.

All that being said, the players and coaches for the teams should only be thinking about getting the tiebreaker by winning that game, and not about other matters.

yeah that's kinda stretching it. Pats actually won their league titles under the Brady/Belichick era and were going for an undefeated SEASON.

But I hear what you're saying.

i've hated the lakers for a long time, and they're the #2 team on my hate list (w/utah being #1). but all athletes are competitive. of course they're wanting badly to embarass us on national tv. i'm sure we'd be the same if we're in their shoes.

i see this as a tightly contended game. the score should be close. the tiebreak implication is huge (i didn't know until yesterday). the only sure thing to our favor is the home court. imo to say we SHOULD win the game is a bit stretch.

    What did Kobe say?

Look, the Rockets announcers would've said the same thing if the shoes were on the other feet. Regardless of whether or not we're going for 22 that game, it's going to be the biggest regular season Rockets game in years.

    That's Odom's FG%, not the Lakers as a team.

It was kinda of a joke

I know that its like comparing apples and oranges (NBA and NFL).
But I was trying to make an ironic joke that hopefully expressed my hatred for the Pats and Belichick ;)
