Just look at the "others receiving votes".... Vince Carter got 2 points! At least one of these voters has a brain problem.
This seems to be just one of those "Greatest Whatever" lists that leads to nowhere. Why dont they just title it "MJ or KB"? And we all know Kobe is going to win the MVP.
Iverson over Drexler is indeed a stretch but it's arguable. However, Reggie Miller being only 1 spot behind Drexler is a diss to Clyde or overly high praise to Miller depending on how you view it.
Maybe they gave Clyde demerits because of his announcing. "Dikimbe caused that play... even though he is not on the court right now..." "Wow, he's 5 for 7... he hasn't missed all night." Love Clyde.
Others receiving votes (points): Sam Jones (31), Dwyane Wade (23), Hal Greer (19), David Thompson (14), Bill Sharman (9), Dave Bing (6), Tracy McGrady (5), Sidney Moncrief (5), Manu Ginobili (4), Ray Allen (3), Paul Arizin (2), Vince Carter (2), Dennis Johnson (1), Gail Goodrich (1), Drazen Petrovic (1), Mitch Richmond (1), Jimmy Walker (1).
Drexler got shafted. I am a bigger Iverson fan than most (I think he gets overly picked on for taking so many shots) but people are just forget that Drexler and Jordan were a close 1 and 2 and nobody was even close to them
George the Iceman Gervin played with tenacity like Mario Elie with a Purvis Short rainbow and Steve Novak accuracy.
Aww shut up people. Reggie Miller deserves to be on that list if not higher. He brought it every single night. He gave the Chicago Bulls and the New York Knicks hell in the playoffs for many years. People please get your head out of your asses. He is a shooting guard not a point guard and it was not Reggie Miller's job to make his team better (that was Mark Jackson's job). Miller's job was to go out and score points. He was a scorer just like the Piston's Richard Hamilton. Lets not talk about defense because the second best player in the league now which is Lebron James does not play a lick of defense to safe his life. But if his career stills pans out how we all think it will be he will go down as one of the greats next to Jordan, Bird, and Magic. Defense does not win championships people, scoring baskets wins championships lets not forget.
I share the same opinion. You guys must have forgotten how Reggie Miller's Pacer competed with Michael Jordan's Bull.
I was kinda being sarcastic....sorta I'm a big fan of Tmac and I've followed him ever since his days in Orlando, so I know he's a VERY capable defender.....when he puts his mind to it. But his defense has been good to tremendous during this streak, and that reflects his intensity and improved leadership.
I can't believe that Manu is on that list. He's having a great season, but on the short list of all-time shooting guards??? He got as many votes as T-Mac.
