    Let Eddie rest in peace.

Rockets did not get much out of him, but let him go.

Sad enough Eddie had all the proper tools to get his life together but continued to backslide... And honestly I do not feel sorry for Eddie, i feel sorry for his family. Now was it done in bad taste, yes, was it necessary, no, did i laugh my ass off when i heard it? yes yes i did

Right or wrong, deserving or not, who knows, but everybody owns their opinion.

I'm way more bummed about how the draft ended than being sad about his death.

It was one of those things that I didn't really laugh at, when Clyde mentioned the trade I definitely listened on. I just felt a little bit awkward, listening to them talking about him like that.

Don't think Clyde remembers EG's death, but I believe Worrell did. He said "we don't talk about that anymore" but Clyde kept going on and talking about how he didn't play well, we got hosed etc. The Andy Griffith joke by Bill was pretty rude IMO.

Did Eddie make a lot of mistakes? Yes. Did he do things that deserved ridicule? Yes. He's dead now, what's done is done, all of the ridicule would mean nothing now, it would only hurt his family.

Clyde's a nice guy - I don't think we was aware or recalled EG's death. I forgot about it too until I read this thread.

Frankly, EG really doesn't deserve much pity. The guy had an opportunity billions of people would die for. There are kids who get HIV, people who have their legs blown off or everything taken away from them and yet manage to go on and live. I feel for those people, not someone who couldn't deal with their pain and just took the easy way out. Sure, that's easy to say from my comfortable chair and I know that. But the guy just wasted his gifts and only he bears responsibility for that.

bill worell sucks! Your right he doesnt deserve a pass on this. I guarantee you he knows Eddie is dead. He also said something to the effect of he played like Barney Fief. Worell has sucked since 2 or 3 years before they let go of Calvin Murphy.

I would sign the letter to get that goofy sounding tool fired.

Clyde, you're a Rockets icon, but you suck at announcing.

Somewhere out there, Eddie Griffin is a happy joyful soul. He is laughing along with Bill and Clyde.

Clyde just says stupid stuff all the time. Like Rafer Alston in one of the top five point guards in the league. Wait a minute.... he is!

And all this about Clyde not knowing.....C'mon I've loved Glide since his PSJ days, but when you combine the NBA fraternity and the city of Houston connections I find it hard to swallow the fact that he didn't know.He might have just gone off without thinking...but Bill knew when he made the last comment. That blows me away for I've had the utmost repect for him to say the least, because he has represented Houston well for a lifetime and also due to the fact he was a friend at one time to a relative of mine from his UH days.

That said, nobody's perfect and life goes on until it doesn't...but I concur that a simple/short apology is in order from both at the front end of the next broadcast.

Those were very inappropriate comments. They were extremely uncomfortable to sit through.

he lived a negative life after being given so many chances by the nba aand rockets. so being joked around negatively isn't really stomping on his grave..

The poor guy had a very troubled life which culminated in a very tragic end. It's extremely insensitive to make any negative comments about him.

What exactly was said? I dont remember much but I thought it was mostly about the mistakes the Rockets management made in the past and how we were lucky to have the Managemnt we have now w/ all the young promising talent they acquired. I did hear the Andy Griffin remark, I guess it went over my head...didnt think too much of it I just thought maybe it was an inside joke. Either way, I dont think they said anything w/ any sort of malice but they should probably be more careful in the future.

Their comments were extremely rude, and Bill crossed the line with the "Andy Griffith" joke. isn't Bill the same guy who would praise Griffin along with Calvin when he was hitting all those threes and getting all those blocked shots in his rookie season?

I think its inappropriate for those comments on EG, who deceased recently. His family will be falling into great sad when they watch the televisions. He had been
passed away, those criticism could bring us nothing but embarrassment and uncomfortable!
