Just cant wait to hear his analysis on ROX's defense. I hope our defense is really as good as advertised.

I heard part of it. They all came down on people like Barkley and Jon Barry who aren't giving the Rockets a lot of credit for this streaK because they don't feel like this is a championship caliber team.

He felt like this team could get out of the first round, then it depends on the matchups how far they advance.

Man, I love JVG. He still obviously bleeds Rocket Red.

exactly. i may disagree with some of JVG's principles, but he did change the losing culture around here and brought us our first playoff appearance during the francis era. he also brought the defensive philosophy that we're still sticking by.

he's a really great coach and nice guy, and i can only hope he'll be with the organization in some capacity in the future.

haha did anyone catch during the Suns/Spurs game when JVG said something like "I still have no idea when you can sub a player in or out" i thought it was pretty funny he would admit that haha and then he said something like "if its a superstar let them in when ever they want in" haha so funny

The great thing is he respects Adelman and wants the team to win. They aren't many people like that.

You can tell that he still loves the Rox organization, and obviously, he never wanted to leave in the first place.

He's definitely playing the cards in his favor in case he ever needs a job again ;)

    Here's a recap:

Nothing matters except winning. JVG's motto.

    Who's rookie of the year?

Scola first, Horford second, Durant third, and Landry is up there. Thinks Landry could be better than Scola in the future. Thinks together Scola and Landry are special.

Sick of hearing players from losing teams, like Durant winning ROY.

About the 19 game winning streak.

Thinks the Rockets play harder than any team in the NBA. Also play more together than any team as well. Doesn't think you start 15-18 and just roll like this on a 19 win game streak. You can't lose your best player and go 7-0 and call it normal. Thinks it's the most inspiring thing he's seen in his time in the NBA.

Thinks the Rockets have been playing incredible basketball.

To people who think that the Rockets were just playing bad teams...

What about Dallas? New Orleans twice? The Rockets blew them out!

    Are they championship contenders?

Thinks that it would be expecting too much of the Rockets because they don't have Yao.

    About Rocket Rowdies

Things the Rowdies are great, they're cheering loud every night. Tremendous and great passion.

    About Rockets Basketball
The Rockets aren't just beating teams, they're BLOWING people out. BLOWING teams out consistently. Thinks Rick Adelman is so humble. He coaches good basketball, and deserves credit. He just doesn't take credit for his work.

Should be considered for Coach of Year.

    About Dikembe on the Court

Says that most players of his age wouldn't be so excited about the team, and that much of a team player. He's on the bench every night ready to cheer even if he gets no playing time. Deke never lost his intensity and came out ready to play when Yao went out.

Asked JVG whether he has a Deke impression.

JVG: I don't know what he is saying half the time, so I can't make an impression.

Deke is one of the all-time great defensive players.

    Shaq in Phoenix

Shaq can't score like he used to, but he can still rebound and play defense.

Can't be the same team they were before. Thinks that even before Marion left, this year they don't have the same type of shooting they had before. They can't hit you with those barrage of three pointers.

Rockets however, can kill you with a barrage of threes.

Suns can't win with great offense, mediocre defense, and terrible rebounding.

    Dan Marino or Brett Favre?

Brett Favre because he was passionate. Even though his career was going down, he came back and revived his career at an advanced age.

    Tracy McGrady

Him vs. Vince Carter. Doesn't know what happened with Carter. Thinks the media portrays him a certain way, but Tracy is coachable and cares a lot about winning. Thinks he will have a good chance to win a championship, thinks they will win first round this year, but doesn't think they can win this year without Yao.
