When did points per shot become and NBA stat? I just saw this statistic on ESPN's NBA page. Seems like a weird stat to me.

We've discussed this stat in the Rockets forum several times. Do a search in that forum. We came to the conclusion that it was a good indicator of shooting efficiency. I personally think it's a great stat!

Didn't we dub this thing the "Pole stat" after Pole who kept bringing it up in discussion?

I thought everyone in the league got two points for a regular field goal, and three for a three-point shot!?!? You mean some players get more points per shot than others?

Well, that's just not fair. ;)

The new rule is that Kobe and Iverson get three points for every 2-pt field goal made. The defender is automatically whistled for a foul and thus Wannabe and Whiner get a free throw.
