Well, considering that we'd have to go 10-10 and denver 15-5 in order for them to catch us - it does seem unlikely - considering that our next 3 games are fairly easy.... A Magic Number of 16 with 20 games left is pretty good odds.
You are cutting him more slack than he was willing to cut for the Rockets. He may have a "good heart," but his brain was a little short-circuited at times. If you are going to act like a know-it-all, especially one that tells a bunch Rockets fans that their team has no chance of making the playoffs, expect for people to dog you if your predictions don't come true.

The tone of his posts mostly. To me BB didn't post that the Rockets weren't going to make the playoffs because he took pleasure from that. On the contrary, he did it because he was overwhelmed by the turn of events at that time. Sure, the Rox are white hot and rolling now but you'll recall that for most of the first part of the season, they looked dead as dodo birds out there and things were pretty ugly on this board: Fire Adelman, Rafer sucks!, Tracy McLady and so on. There wasn't much to hang your hat on about this team - in fact, if one looked at this team's fortunes objectively, you could not help but be discouraged. That's what I think happened to BB which is why my posts to him always mention having a little faith that things will get better. I just sense no real antipathy towards the Rockets coming from him, just anguish because he bleeds Rockets red.
Oh for sure - you make blunt dramatic statements like that then you'd better be prepared to get flamed when they don't come to pass. That just goes with the territory around here.
