I could call and ask, but I figure I could get my questions answered quickly and simply through you guys, and also any experiences youve had or bad ones.

What type of gas does it take?
How expensive are they to rent?

I'll be going from Houston, TX to Virginia Beach, VA.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure there's a company you could call instead of sitting here and waiting for someone to answer this.

When I came out to Vegas, I used Penske. They had better rates than U-haul for a one way move. Just make sure to reserve it as early as possible for the best rates.

The trucks I used were diesel.

    Yep, Penske has better trucks.

Also, look into the POD thing... where you pack a container and they deliver it for you. Theoretically cheaper, but you'd have to be a good packer.

When I moved to Boston, I found that the shipping containers like the PODS are the cheapest way to go.

I used U-haul and it required regular gas.

The cost depends on the size truck you rent... 19.99 per day and up.

    I will 3rd this recommendation.

Makes even more sense if you have a car you're needing to take over there, don't have to drive 2 vehicles.

They charge you a rate by the mile on top of the 19.99.
