Anybody else catch that during the Suns-Spurs broadcast...?

Short summary..."Adelman should be considered for COTY. Rafer Alston is playing as the best point guard in the West; like a quarterback, his job is to win and that's what the Rockets are doing. Impressed with how Rockets are coping with Yao's loss."

You know, I used to like JVG a lot. It looks to me like he's doing some of this out of spite. I think the inner Van Gundy wants to derail the Rockets. He knows how much of sports is mental.

I admit I was astonished with Rafer's play against the Mavs. He isn't a top 5 PG by any means but he is truly the X-Factor on the team. Tracy looks very comfortable playing along with him which I never thought would be possible.

I agree with JVG, Alston is playing like a Top 5 PG right now. It isn't a fluke either, Alston does have a ton of talent. He is definitely a 2nd tier PG. And his stats are a fluke either. His last year in Toronto he was putting up 14 and 6.

jvg has and will always show love for the rockets and esp the players he has coached. he was one of the biggest supporters of rafer in the past and it was him that brought him over here. he still keeps in contact with all the players esp Yao and Rafer and has always been humble even tho he has gotten fired from his job and has never dissed the rockets unless we deserved it. Him complementing RA shows that he is indeed a classy guy

Yes, I am watching ESPN too and I heard Jeff's comments. The ABC crew is giving major props to the Rockets now for their winning streak. Even Jon Barry gave props to Houston before the game.

The only bad thing about Alston playing so well is that I can't keep using my lame joke about bringing in The Professor to replace him.
