First of all, Eddie got "KJed" as far as the dunk.. Baron shoved him with his free arm.. I have a feeling Davis is going to be on Griffin's hit list in years to come.. that was embarassing. If Davis tries to dunk on him again, I would be a million dollars that the same thing wouldn't happen.
Griffin got him back with a huge block. Davis is good but he did use his free arm to push Griffin off.
Eddie will get his revenge, but that dunk was wild. I would like to see it again to see if he used his off arm cause I wasnt lookin at that.
Griffin will be posterized because he is a shot blocker that has the balls to challenge a shot. Unlike some players. . . . SHAQ. . . who back away from a driving player. Griffin steps up and challenges whoever comes into his area. Thats fine with me. I would rather have a guy with some guts thats willing to take a chance than a big guy who shy's away from the challage or is too scared of being "posterized"
Davis did push him off with his free arm, but that was a nasty dunk. Griff did turn around and block him to let him know that he'd better not get a big head. To say that Griff will go after him from now on. I don't know if I see that. Griff just doesn't seem like he'd step up on things like that. Dream did, Steve does, but I don't know about Griff. Before everyone takes offense, just listen. I'm not questioning his work ethic because I think he always brings it, but it's like Duncan. Everyone calls Duncan soft because he doesn't seem to come through when everyone's watching. When Robinson got the MVP award in the playoffs, Dream went out and schooled him. All through the playoffs Dream would step up like he had something to prove. Steve also steps up when his pride is on the line. Whenever Steve plays a popular point guard or whenever the game is national, Steve usually plays his best. The Utah game is a perfect example. Stockton kept hitting and scoring on Steve, so what does Steve do? Light that prick up for 27. Also anytime a star player hits a big three, Steve answers. On to Griff. Against NJ everyone thought Griff would come out and embarass dick jefferson, but he turns around and has two of his worst games. Maybe it's a maturity thing where Griff doesn't feel his pride is threatened. Maybe it's not a bad thing because he brings his game against the lottery teams as well as the good ones. I just hope Griff learns to step up when its called for.
Yeah that dunk was nasty but he did use his free arm on Griffin. Griffin got him back though with that nice block. Griffin played great. 16 points, 9 boards, and 2 blocks.
All good shotblockers get dunked on. Hakeem, David,Dike, Morning all of them. As long as you challenge shots, you'll get smashed on. Look what KJ did to Hakeem, or Carter did to Dike,Hill to Mourning, it just happens. The NBA is full of high risers, I'm just glad everyone got to see that Steve isn't the only pg that goes way up.
Griffin quote from the Chron: "I didn't think he was up that high," Griffin said. "I thought he would have to lay it up."
The dunk of the year was Keon Clark over Toni Kukoc. You had to see it. Toni went to block it 1on1 in the lane, Keon just rose over him and crammed it down to hard the ball went through the basket and off Toni's head into the crowd as he was falling down.
I like the Dunk that Kenny Thomas had on Antonio Davis when we played the Raptors not that long ago. Thomas wen to the basket from the wing, elevated, then slammed it down hard and he landed on top of Davis. Davis looked shell shocked after that one. That was my favorite dunk Ive seen so far this season. Anybody remember that one?
I may have, but if you could find a link for it that would be great. I love watching Carter posterize people.
Eddie Griffin will have his vengance one way or another...just watch for it. I know he doesn't look like he's the type of guy who would hold that against someone, but believe me as a shot blocker it's his job to get back at someone for dunking on him!
