So ShowTime had the Lake Show

What's in for Clutch City if this team makes a run? They are hitting on all cylinders, great chemistry, overcoming injuries and a terrible start to do something amazing in winning 18 in a row and counting.

So in the spirit of bandwagoning and of a team that was written off ago back in december by Magic Johnson and all the way through Yao's injury and even most recently by Jon Berry and JVG...basically everyone - i think it's time to finally at last christen the Rockets team with something that's a bit Clutch City, but a bit new to reflect the guys we have.

We already had double clutch (which i never liked) but here's a few ideas to get things going:

    New Clutch City
    Fast Clutch
    T-Clutch
    Clutch City Lives
    Clutch Resurrection.

Ok, not so great but hey, who cares....

I think what this team has accomplished is deserving already of a place in Rockets history.

They've earned it especially with all they have over come - not just this year but the past four years.

Maybe its just me, but the stay humble , stay hungry theme has worked well so far. Dont let the streak fool you... just take a look at our starting 5. We are underdogs in the worst way.

we're total underdogs which is what makes this team so remarkable and deserving of a nick-name. Because this has to be the most shocking 18 game win streak ever. I mean, geez, what is going on? This is insane and I haven't seen anything so insane since 1995.

yes we'll see after the laker's game. We've been playing better and consistent basketball and beaten some good teams. It's very exciting to watch the rockets now with Yao out of the picture but we havn't really faced the elite teams like the spurs and until then, it's too early for clutch city or choke city.

    Dallas is choke city.

I honestly believe that houston never stopped being clutch city. it started in 94 and became the attitude for the astros teams nobody gave a chance (remember the gravestone?). the dynamo are that type of team, no stars, just an amazing team.
what about these texans next year? looks to be setting up to be that kind of season, young team, something to prove... it is the prototype for a houston championship team.

these rockets are finally taking that "us against the world" clutch city attitude (that i feel was lost after the trade of elie and cassell and never returned) back, and nothing could be more beautiful.

It doesn't mean anything if we don't win in the end.

Actually I think it does because no one expects us to win in the end - we're still a long shot to be perfectly realistic.

That's why it does mean something, because when Yao went down i don't think any of us were thinking we'd win the next 6 in row and possibly more.

This team deserves some major props - I'm really happy with they way they have played and I'm extrodinarly impressed at how well they look.

Do you remember last year? Heck, do you remember December - same guys - with Yao, and we looked awful. The turnaround is truly remarkable. Just unbelievable.

    To add to my point:
    sportscenter:
"the rockets taking on the hornets in clutch city..."
it is a nickname of the city the rockets play in now. just as much as "the big heart" "space city" and "syrup town". they gave the city the nickname by personifying the attitude that has been inherent in our citizenry from the begining. it has spread throught our sports teams, given us some great memories, and seems to be back with the rocks at long last.

part of our lore, just like "never underestimate..."

Clutch City is for the Rockets and Rockets alone. I could care less about the Astros and Texans. Thats not actually true I root against the Astros being a Cub fan. Clutch City was created by the Rockets and belongs to the Rockets if it comes to mean supporting all of Houston's team' then I will no longer use it. Plus a large majority of Rockets fans don't support or even like all of Houston's teams.
