Clearly he's being sarcastic since there were people saying the Rockets were better without Yao and that they could enjoy the season with Yao out.
I don't know much, but I am pretty certain that you do not play the way Landry did against Dallas on a torn ACL. In fact, I have never heard of someone having a torn ACL and playing one minute of basketball. You cannot explode at all with a torn ACL. Worse case scenario is that is a bruise that will cause Landry to miss a week or so.
ok. someone please inform the basketball flying spaghetti monster that we have met our injury quota for this season. no more injuries, please.
i dont think its too serious, maybe he bumped knees against someone versus Indiana. hopefully he'll be okay.
There are several degrees of tear. It can be completely torn, in which case the player can't walk. There can be a very slight tear just enough to cause pain and discomfort. This doesn't look good. He could have made it a little worse playing against Dallas. That knee brace wasn't there for nothing. If he had knee pain before he played against Dallas, I can't believe the Rockets medical staff didn't do a proper diagnosis. A bruise and a tear (however slight) are completely different in recovery time. If he has a tear, he will be out for at least 6 weeks. If it's a bruise, he can be back in a week or two. I think Tmac had a bruise and he came back in two weeks. Tmac is a pansy so maybe Carl can come back in one week if it's just a bruise.
No one has really said this, but the way it impacts us tonight is that it means Chuck Hayes is going to be playing a lot of minutes. Chuck is a better rebounder and defender than Landry. If he can chip in about 8 points, then I don't think the loss of Landry will determine the game. We are deep at the PF position. Of course, I know Landry plays some backup center and Hayes cannot do that. Deke's minutes will increase tonight too. Bad shooting from our backcourt will doom us, because we won't have a enough offense to go around. If we shoot well, then there will some opportunities even for limited offensive players like Hayes (who can score when opposing teams forget about him). My prediction is that we win in a defensive struggle... say about 86-82...the streak of double digit victories ends, but the win streak rolls on!
The rockets medical staff is trying to hurt our players?u make the franchaise player play on his injured foot for 2 weeks.Who nows he could of taken off the allstar weekend and a month and be fine. Now laundry is playing injured.Tmac is no pansy.U try playing on a bad back ur whole career.
The thing is that Chuck is banged up too. He had his ankle turned agaisnt Indiana then he was karate groined by Juwan Howard. I hope he's healthy enough to make a solid contribution. If not, Luis has to be up to the challenge of playing 40+ minutes I don't think Mike Harris will see any time with this being his first game
