Currently we are 1 game behind the Hornet. A win tomorrow would tie us with them, but since we would have the tie breaker it would project us to the number three seed. The importance of this is not just home court advantage, not just an 18 game win streak but a few more important things. 1) Imagine our confidence level if we are ranked third in a tight western conference. Although, I'm sure they are all on confidence highs, this would just push it over the top. 2) No analyst, no matter HOW much they hate the Rockets, no matter how much they feel the Rockets aren't doing at the end of the day, can say that a team that is a TOP 3 seed in this western conference is not playing well, and not capable of winning it all. 3) Many say "The Mavs, and Suns both had 17 game win streaks last year but they didn't get to the finals" Well, if I'm not correct they were titled at contenders this year, something that most analyst are very cautious of labeling us as. At the end of the day, a victory tomorrow would do wonders for the team, without a doubt.
Seriously dude, why is everyone so worried what the analysts think? Does Cuck and Steven Ass Smith showing us love make us more likely to win the championship? No, of course not. More importantly, this team has fed their fire off criticism lately so if anything I'd rather the analysts kept writing us off.
A lot is at stake in this showdown tomorrow. David West might not play due to an ankle sprain but we gotta come out energized...can't worry about who is or not playing.
Well the Hornets took until the 4th to get rid of the Nets tonight. They're on a back to back and their starters played until the very end. And they were'nt paritcularly impressive. We haven't a great deal to fear imo.
Watch out for Julian Wright. Looks like he's emerging. He got 20 tonight with a couple of rebounds. He didn't play meaningful minutes last time we played against them, and when he did he scored a few buckets easily.
hornets still have enough weapons to be considered a dangerous team. david west or not as of right now Tyson chandler and peja concern me the most In the blowout win peja was taken completely out of the game by our defense, if he gets hot this time around we could be in trouble. Tyson Chandler has me worried too, yao tore him apart in our last meeting. This meeting wont be the same. I wonder how the rockets will respond to that with yao out of the lineup, deke cant be in the game to guard him forever.
AAAAaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnd.... San Antonio did lose in Denver, meaning their magnificent 'streak' has ended at 11. Now nobody else can steal the thunder...
Why do people WANT the media on our jocks. The BEST thing you can have as a player is to have someone, much less the entire media, tell you it's not THAT impressive. Or tell you there's no way you're going all the way. The second the media jumps on our nuts is the second our minds wander and we stop fighting for peoples respects. I pray they don't give us credit until the EXACT day we win the NBA finals. Just how I see things.
Yeah agree. he owned us last time. I mean this kid can flat out play. I have no idea why is Ryan Bowen getting more minutes. Julia Wright is like the the Carl Landry of the rockets. I would love to have him on the roster.
Tomorrow's game is huge. It's more than just protecting home court. Hornets are gunning for revenge. A win would be preparation for the playoffs. It would add to the Rockets self-belief as well as taking away from the Hornets.
Lets just pray i get to watch the game un interupted tommorow night (i work at a firehouse and nobody else cares bout the rox on my shift)........ i hope they shut paul down.. no west in the game were in fo sure
Every game is a big game in the WESTERN CONFERENCE. First it was the Denver game the "real" test. Then the Dallas game. Now its the Hornets. Next Jazz? Lakers? They are all pretty important in such a tight race.
It is huge. Not so much for media attention, but because if we win this, we have a very good shot at getting to 21 straight wins and making history. We seem to get steadily better and better with each win, too. We just have to keep it going.
I love that the national media gives us little respect. Anything external that can help keep TMac motivated while simultaneously giving this team something else to rally around is perfect.
I hope the analysts keep playing the Rockets' streak down. It only gives them more motivation to stomp some rump. The best part of this team is the kick-butt attitude they have, and I hope it carries on to the second round at least.
