A lot of traitors in this game. Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, Mario Elie (assistant with Mavs), Juwan Howard yelled at Tmac right before he drained that jumper from the Dallas bench to try to distract him. Juwan was Tmac's best friend the last couple of years, then he pulls off some cheap stuff from the sidelines and then intentionally hit Chuck in the groin.
Whatever, this has nothing to do with a false statement of this thread. and don't give me this BULL**** ABOUT SAM 'CAREFULLY SELECTING HIS WORDS'!! Its SAM CASSELL NOT BARACK OBAMA
Dude, I haven't seen the interview but I don't care one way or another about Cassell and what he said. But you're not exactly coming off as "sane" right now...
I have to say I am with tinman on this one. The continual bashing of anyone that dares to even ALLEGEDLY say something negative about Houston or the Rockets is out of control. Can you blame Barkley for thinking the Mavs would win last night? I can't. I'm ecstatic that he was wrong, but looking at the Mavs lineup, even sans _irk, there was only one reason why we'd win that game. Momentum. We have it and we are rolling. As for Cassell saying that winning a championship in Boston would be crazy (NOT BETTER), so *****ing what?? Boston is a sports crazy town where the people are insanely fanatic about their teams. I wish more people from Houston were like that, but the fact is that most aren't. We are the exception to the rule, where in a historical city like Boston, it is the rule. Deal with it people.
I watched it and I wasn't offended in the slightest. Show me a competitor that doesn't think the next championship he wins will be the best, and I'll show you somebody who isn't going to win another championship. He mentioned how big it was for Houston. And as Tinman has said over and over again, Sam didn't say it'd be better, he said it'd be different. I can't fault the guy at all for dreaming of playing a role in winning a championship for a legendary franchise in a town OBSESSED with sports. I mean, be real. We constantly complain about the lower bowl of Toyota Center being empty, people leaving the games early, the Rockets getting too little coverage on local sports radio, and the attendance at games being pathetic when the Rockets aren't struggling. I see people on this site talking about Houston being a city of bandwagon fans ALL OF THE TIME. Boston isn't like that, and you can't have it both ways. We're either as good of a sports town as cities like Boston or we're not. Incidentally, if he would have signed with the Rockets, I'm sure he'd be talking about how great it would be to begin his career with a championship in Houston and then end it with a championship in Houston. But he's in Boston now, and he's saying exactly what he's supposed to/should say. Does this thread exist purely to get Tinman all riled up or what? It's a complete non-issue.
Doesn't matter, tinman will be rooting for the Celts because he still lives in the 90's. 'Real' fans must support ex-Rocket players over present Rockets players...because only real fans followed the team during the 90's. Sorry 10 year old kid wearing the Tmac jersey, you are a faker and soulless.
i feel sammy is a year or 2 too late to join a team that has champiosnship hopes. he's just plain too old now and won't be a significant factor. the best he can do (maybe) is what payton did in the miami-dallas series.
Sam is at the end of his career and he's been traded to the best team in the East. He's going to be able to pass the rock to three All Stars. Three great All Stars. He'll have more space for his midrange game than he's seen in a long time. If he wasn't thrilled about it, the guy would be nuts. I just hope the Rockets meet the Celtics again in the Finals and we finally beat their sorry asses. Then I'll be giving ET a hard time. Not now. I simply don't buy that he would belittle, in any way, the championship he won with the Rocks.
here's the interview http://broadband.nba.com/cc/playa.p...a/nba/nbacom/tnt/inside/tnt_inside_080306.asx Put your money where your mouth is. From that interview, if Sam actually said that "Boston is Better than Houston" than I'll put in $50 to the tipjar. If not, I'll put $25. However if he DIDNT SAY THAT you put $50, and I'll put $25. We'll let CLUTCH judge the VIDEO evidence. A 10 year kid who can't listen needs to go to school more instead of watching the Rockets.
Thanks Pimp. The Barkley thing is different. he likes to act stubborn, remember Golden State last year? but this thing. he never said it. here's the link to the video. http://broadband.nba.com/cc/playa.p...a/nba/nbacom/tnt/inside/tnt_inside_080306.asx
you need to go to that r****d school with the rest of the r****ds. how about the $50 bet for the tipjar? you started this thread. if CLUTCH says "Sam definetly said Boston is better than Houston" winner pays $50 to the tip jar. Loser $25. Come on dude, or do you need to ask your mom for lunch money??
tinman... you are a troll in every sense of the word. take your insults, name calling, immaturity and irrationality to somebody else that will take you seriously because i sure don't.
$50 for the tipjar. watch the video again: http://broadband.nba.com/cc/playa.p...a/nba/nbacom/tnt/inside/tnt_inside_080306.asx i do believe you are the one putting out false information "A Boston Chamionship is better than a Houston One" at least spell Championship right
Thanks RocketsPimp, apparently only 3 people here actually watched the segment and didn't need to press the close captioning button.
hahaha... when all else fails, use spell check tactic. what's next, are you going to attack my punctuation and grammar? another sign of a dedicated troll. keep it up.
you obviously can't put your money where your mouth is. come on, make a bet, the money goes to good use. i guess you don't support Clutchfans what you don't trust CLUTCH being the judge of this? http://broadband.nba.com/cc/playa.p...a/nba/nbacom/tnt/inside/tnt_inside_080306.asx i'll even tell you at the 14:32 mark of the video is where the interview is.
Umm...ok. I didn't make any comment pertaining to the video (besides 'Doesn't matter'), didn't watch the video, and don't care to watch the video in the future. Oh no...am I not a real fan now because I didn't watch some interview?!!?!?!? And I don't see the hoopla. Cassell has to be somewhat political when you're about to join a new team.
Well, the Celtics do have a more historic background than the Rockets. 16 titles. To win one after all the bad seasons they've had, would probably be pretty special. I don't think Sam I Am was taking a cheap shot or dissing the Rockets, he's just being real.
tinman, you are missing the point here... since comprehension isn't your biggest strength i'll hold your hand through this, ok little buddy? - sam cassell implies that winning a championship in boston is better than winning it in houston - i start this thread to share my disapproval of the comments - several forum members agree and share their thoghts also - several forum members disagree with my opinion which is fine, that's what message boards are for - to discuss these things - you disagree with my post and spam the thread with juvenile insults, curse words and personal attacks - you start another thread to counter this thread - your desire to wager $50 on a sam cassell interview proves your state of mind ultimately, i feel sorry for you man. i didn't think you were like this until now but your posts have revealed the type of person you really are. here's a life tip for you - don't always try to ram your opinion down other people's throats, they probably won't like it.
