Unless it is a t-shirt or a polo with shorts to go play golf, I always wear an undershirt. Crew T-Shirt to be exact. Since the wife beater doesn't protect the over shirt from underarm sweat / stains, I view the wife beater as a "Manzere" or "Bro" since it's only purpose seems to be to protect / hide nipples. By the way, best undershirt brand ever is sold at WALMART (shocking I know) and is the LIFE brand. I haven't seen them in awhile... BTW, even the Marines wear undershirts and a trick I learned from one I used to work with is that if you starch the inside of the pits of the undershirt, sweat will not be able to soak through to the outer shirt.
I think this is the key. If the undershirt is visible, then the answer is NO. Undershirts are fine as long as they aren't visible.
Undershirts decrease definition - definitely a good thing when you have a big ol' pot belly like me. A single shirt would adapt to and accentuate said pot belly whereas two shirts will make everything look flatter. Undershirts FTW.
yes. it is standard protocol, however there are exceptions. the real question is v-neck or crew? i use to be only crew, but over the last few years learned v-necks are the only way to go.
Not worried about the guy...I'm wondering about the girl! lol I wear a white undershirt with polo's or button downs....not with T's
Only wear white crew undershirts when I'm wearing a button-down dress shirt at work or when I'm going out, otherwise for T-shirts and polo shirts I never wear them. -KO40A
Lots of advice out there on Google. I'd trust the experts out before I'd trust a bunch of bbs/basketball fans/college aged/gaming//pimple faced computer nerds on clutchfans.net http://www.askmen.com/fashion/fashiontip_150/167_fashion_advice.html http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=1006040808595 http://men.style.com/gq/fashion/styleguy/underwear/637 http://www.askmen.com/fashion/fashiontip_250/278_fashion_advice.html
It's weird, I totally agree about the visible undershirts thing when I go out and wear a dress shirt, but I don't think I can be that casual around the office especially when some shirts have "collars" that open up all the way down to well below my clavicle. No win situation, lol.
Yes, for several reasons as many have already mentioned. 1.) Absorbs Sweat 2.) Covers Chest Hair 3.) Lessens Definition (nipples, man boobs, pot bellies, etc.) 4.) Don't have to wash dress and polo shirts as frequently 5.) Usually made out of soft material that is more comfortable than many dress shirts. Also I usually tuck my undershirt in, which feels more comfortable around the waste line. Am I leaving anything out?
I always wear the undershirt, for the same reasons you do. You could ask your wife what she's willing to give up spending money on, because you will need to increase your shirt budget if you stop.
Who cares about fashion trends or what experts think. You should wear whatever you feel comfortable and not about what's the cool thing to do or what is "in style". Do people think for themselves anymore these days?
