The Rockets getting no respect and love from any outlet outside the city of Houston! Keep looking right passed us! It's all motivation from here! I hope we beat Dallas by 20 tonight, and I also hope ESPN whispers a couple of words about us and moves on to a " more important team ". I hope ESPN raves about the rolling Spurs and the Lakers and the Celtics and Lebron and Kidd and Shaq. It just makes my boy's come out even harder! Rafer- Keep up the Confidence ( whole new player in 2008) Scola and Battier- Do you guys make mistakes? Charge, Rockets ball Landry- You are really starting to scare me.........did you come from Mars? Deke- Please, Please, give me 4 more months- Farvish BJ, Head, Hayes- love the tenacity! TMac-...................It's Time
Ha, yeah I echoed that sentiment in a thread of mine, although someone did bring up a good point. If the streak was to be front page news everyday, people might get tired of the rockets. Still, I'd like them to get at least the same amount of attention Detroit, Lakers, and the Celtics get.
Me too, screw what the national media says...they didn't exactly jump on the championship Rockets team's band wagon either. What the Rockets are proving is that a TEAM can overcome individual play every day of the week. Last night Chuck was huge....Novak has been big against Sacremento, Bobby Jax had his moment, Scola has been great, Battier was huge against Denver. Rafer has been playing awesome, Tmac playing as a teamate and not dominating the ball. This is a true team......one that has the best chemistry I have seen in the last 10 years.....wonderful to watch. DD
you're right... it rivals that of 3 years ago. lol our lineup has gone from sura/james wesley/barry tmac bowen/padgett yao/deke to rafer/jackson tmac/head battier scola/hayes deke/landry that's a huge change... not just in players but man we had alot of white guys back then!
This team is much better than that one.....much more athletic and talented..... They can also play many different styles..... Morey should be commended. DD
I don't mind it one bit either. And what's great is that even if we win tonight (on national TV for everyone to see), even though it will be on a powerful division rival's home floor, even though it would be 17 in a row, the haters will still hate because Dirk missed the game.
Much younger team as well...sans deke, the average age would shave down about a year and a half. Future is bright
Hell, even if we win by 30, I bet Barkley will make one neutral comment about the game in passing, and then they'll go on to talk about other events from the week.
wouldn't even matter to the media if we beat dallas by 40, as they'll just mention they didn't have dirk...lol
i've been lurking on this site for quite a while... i've read a lot of DUMB *****, none that deserves a reply. this might be the best thing anyone has said on here in a while. nice post!
Oh, the big deal tonight will be not having Dirk. Book it. Last night's huge feature was Celtics vs Detroit. Who gives a flying F-bomb about that when you got a team that's won 16 straight in such a dominant manner. I'm surprised (well really I'm not) they don't get more love. Whatever, the hotest topics for ESPN and their ratings are New York, Boston, LA, Chicago and Detroit. Houston is a mere afterthought in the push for ratings. Chemistry is awesome though as DD pointed out. Dallas' chemistry (along with Phenoix) shouldn't be what ours is and the superior TEAM should win tonight. Go Rockets and 17 in a row!
Try being a Rockets fan outside of Houston. It's ridiculous. I can't even wear my Rockets jersey at the U(niversity of Arizona) without being hassled for some reason.
We just have to come to terms with the fact that the Rockets are simply not going to get a lot of love until they win a playoff series. ... And good lord, if the Rockets won a playoff series this year without Yao... Oh my god, every media outlet and sports analyst the world over would be all over our nuts for months.
I love the no attention. Lets keep staying under the radar. ESPN/TNT only like talking about Lebron and Kobe anyway. I really want to hear what Sir Charles says tonight.
